Precisely.

Equality and all.

No one should be allowed to have kids.

Ban kids.

Then they would be treasured.

Yeah, but condoms are fucked.
The regular ones cut off blood supply and what was once a raging monster becomes a sleepy wrinkled sloth.
The large ones are great until you lose interest, even only for 10 seconds, and next minute the whole affair becomes a rescue operation.

Being able to adult has nothing to do with intelligence.
I know so many smart people who are stupid idiots when it comes to love and sex.

Being new here and trying my damnedest not to be the snarky noob but the question presented seems no different than asking if fat people should be allowed to eat or should clumsy people be allowed to ski basically should everyone be required to prove the financial ability to not burden society in order to engage in any activity. The question is not or should not be should the poor be allowed to have kids but rather by what right can we prohibit them. The entire point of joining together into societies is that we all benefit. For the fortunate to consider regulating to less fortunate then they disassociate from society and are much more costly to deal with as a criminal underclass. Wouldn’t it be better to ask what are we doing wrong as a society that poor exist? How have we failed? How can we reduce the unequal distribution of resources? Rather than should we let the poor have kids. I’m curious if the answer turns out to be in the negative what will a society that criminalizes poor people who have babies look like? Would you want to live in it if you were behind a rawlsian veil and couldn’t know what your status would be in that society? But that’s just me. I’ll sit back and take my lumps now I guess...

I mean if we are going by strict cost benefit analysis should we not ask whether 1% of our population should be allowed to hoard 99% of the wealth? (Percentages are for illustrative purposes only and not asserted as absolutely accurate)(and no, nobody ever became the top one percent from hard work. You make a million you got lucky but you make a billion and you appropriated a ton of the value of the labor of others.. )

I’m in no way advocating for any sort or eugenic solution. Providing for child once it here should be a given. That’s not my point. I being below the poverty line myself am simply baffled at people who get pregnant and think it’s a fun or good thing when they can barely feed themselves. I simply think it’s selfish and illogical. And for those going about human sex drives there’s vibrators and flesh lights and fingers. I don’t know maybe I simply have more self control? But seriously the thought of being poor while pregnant is horrifying to me. And I truthfully think that if you didn’t want get pregnant you’d take lots of precautions. Personally not only did I when I had my first lover at 22, switch from the pill to an implant, but we both stocked up on condoms, spermicide, and mugwort tea. I’m determined to finish school and went to every precaution to prevent any accidents. And if we ran short for affording anything we put physical distance between the two of us, because there’s also phone sex and FaceTime.
