There is no British accent in that scene.

Or a Glaswegian, full stop.

What a lot of Americans (not you, GS) fail to grasp is that there is no such thing as 'a British accent'.  A Geordie doesn't sound like a Manc doesn't sound like a Cockney doesn't sound like RP and so on and so on.  There are dozens of British accents and dialects.

Yep. A New Englander talking to a Alabama swamper, that's fun to watch. The telly is gradually leveling the play field, but it won't eliminate regionally distinction dictions.

I have a fun time most times trying to understand my Welsh brother in law. Big Grin

Which is not that bad most times. I only occasionally have to ask him to 'Slow down' what he's saying.

Not at work.

RE: Friends- British accent
When non-Brits say "British accent" they are referring to received pronunciation, also known as the Queen's English. It sounds nothing like the Welsh accent, Scottish Accent or Irish accent, so they should really call it an English accent....except that wouldn't make sense due to the fact the language is...er...English. It should therefore be universally recognised that every other regional and national accent is the accent (eg - American accent) and, in fact, only received pronunciation is FREE from an accent, in the English language. You're welcome.

In Arabia; I always ran into teachers/people who speak a very stupid accent and claim it's British..since British is "classy" and "evidence of big brains"..
There is of course a British accent; it's the cut & disoriented mutation  from Latin; that the old natives spoke with

I always get confused between Welsh and Irish, until I memorized it like this: Welsh=redhead Irish=blonde
