Christianity was secularized some centuries ago and most christians are ok with their religion being a bunch of mutually exclusive denominations. I don't think it's fair to compare that with Islam, which remained uncompromising since it began to exist.

I already mentioned Muhammad successfully challenging his contemporaries with the Qur'an, despite their high proficiency with Arabic, they chose to prosecute him instead of responding intellectually. So Muhammad's claim that the Qur'an cannot be man made becomes more credible.
