[Quranic Reflection]: Evolution

However, those that accept the evidence for evolution do not need that extra assumption of a god to understand it's true and happening. It's the part we borrow occam's razor.

But if an ancient book -like the Quran- stated explicitly that humans didn't know how to speak, but were "taught" I will start to worry. Especially after reading this line from wikipedia:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homo_erectus

Quote:H. erectus are associated with the Acheulean stone tool industry, and is thought to be the earliest human ancestor capable of starting fires, speech, hunting and gathering in coordinated groups, caring for injured or sick group members, and possibly art-making.

I was taught that chipmunks have stripes on their backs because the first chipmunk almost got eaten by a bear and the stripes are the bear's claw marks. We know that chipmunks are real, we know bears are real, so....
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

The Q'ran was written 609-632. Hardly that ancient and robbing the people of the middle east of their Sumerian heritage.

The OP. Discuss that.

What if an ancient book, like....*pick any book you want* stated...?
Would you believe that book?

Moongod touched homo erectus, and he suddenly had something to say about it. This, in your mind...proves evolution. This, in your mind, makes magic book...less ridiculous?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

You're the one who claimed it was 'ancient'... I made no remarks about its popularity, nor do I see the relevance of popularity to the claims you made in the OP.

If you base your claims on the age of the text it is beaten by the Sumerians, Egyptians, Greeks, Hindus, Mayans, etc. none of whom ever spoke to Homo erectus..

I fail to see how that supports anything you said or addresses anything I said (???).

The mental gymnastics that you go about to try to fit your beliefs with the real world are astounding. 0.1 score.

Of course you made a remark about the popularity of Islam:

You went off to criminalize the choice of people calling it "robbery", despite us knowing that Islam is a religion, not a human being to "rob" people of anything.

Buddy; people chose that religion. Accusations of "robbery" do not live in the vocabulary of any decent human; but only live and thrive in the mentality of a defeated bunch who feel overwhelmed in front of a threat.

And don't listen to rightist crap. It's not good for your health.

The OP though..what do you say discussing it?
