Does afterlife need God?

Let's say that there came up some hard evidence that afterlife exists, would that neccesarily prove that (some) God exists or could that world exist without any God, like this one does? I mean could that world also have a natural explanation?

Natural for that world, but more than likely, beyond anything humans could comprehend.

An afterlife could be nature's way of recycling "souls". Perfectly natural.
What an afterlife won't do is keep your memories backed up to usb!

If an afterlife consisted of ghosts floating about (for lack of a better term) I don't see that would necessarily require a deity.

An afterlife (natural, supernatural, ultra mega natural, doesn't matter) could only certify it's own existence.
