Much as I'd like to vote for the first gay president, a few years after gay marriage was legalized, Pete is not the guy. Just like the first woman president would be nice to vote for, but Hillary isn't the one.

I will vote blue, no matter who, but for obvious reasons I prefer Buttigieg over Sanders.

I have heard that too, yes. This is completely screwy. I kind of wish Bernie and the Justice dems would just start a third party, to see if half the country would back them. Because from what I hear, half the country is independent. Although that wouldn't stop the main parties from doing their best to screw him over anyway. So he's stuck trying to play nice with this party, thinking these people are his friends, and will act with honesty and civility, when they won't.
