Romney Concedes Iowa
(More or less)

http://apnews.excite.com/article/2011071...F7L80.html

Quote:DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney's campaign said Tuesday that he will not sign a conservative Iowa Christian group's far-reaching pledge opposing gay marriage, making him the first Republican presidential candidate to reject it.

Two of Romney's rivals for the Republican nomination, Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, have signed the The Family Leader's 14-point pledge, which calls on the candidates to denounce same-sex marriage rights, pornography, same-sex military accommodations and forms of Islamic law.

I don't know if you saw this but the original copy of that pledge that they signed said that black people were better off in the time of slavery.

He's still a shithead, though. Being less of a shithead than Bachmann and Santorum doesn't help much.

Well.......Iowa.
Now Pawlenty tries...

http://apnews.excite.com/article/2011071...0O9O0.html

Quote:ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Republican Tim Pawlenty declined Wednesday to sign a pledge written by a conservative Iowa group that asks presidential candidates to denounce same-sex marriage rights, pornography and forms of Islamic law.

But ultimately fails....

Quote:Pawlenty said he agrees with the principles behind the Family Leader's Marriage Vow, but not the way the 14-point pledge is cast. Earlier in the day, the former Minnesota governor released a new radio ad and a web video in which he and his wife Mary discuss their personal faith, anti-abortion views and opposition to gay marriage.

To become a rational human being..... He does manage to come across as a right-wing shit stain, though.

The GOP conducts a fool proof genetic test that screens out anyone whose lineage has been polluted by any human genetic input since 4004 BC.

RE: Romney Concedes Iowa
A shrewd move on his part.

He's learned from past mistakes. He knows there's no way he's rebranding himself as a social conservative given his record as governor. Additionally his questionable Christian identity would be a loadstone with the Iowa Republican crowd. He's putting his chips instead on New Hampshire and going for the fiscal conservative image. Given his record of draconian layoffs, he has a much better chance making that image stick.

The Iowa Republican caucus has become so batshit crazy evangelical that anyone who's not Michelle Bachmann should just not even bother.

It's the subsequent primaries that will determine who the Republican nominee will be.
