Talk about full-circle crazy: Conspiracy theorist Robert David Steele who claimed that NASA has a child slave colony on Mars, has died from COVID–19, the disease he denied existed.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

He didn't die of COVID–19 - he was injected by killer bots engineered by NASA to cover up their child slave colony. You read it here first!

As much as I am tired of dealing with COVID in general, there are two things that have changed in my world because of it that I like. First, I have always disliked grocery shopping - yeah, I know I have mostly been lucky enough to be able to keep the house stocked with food and for that I am appreciative but the actual chore of grocery shopping has always been something I dread - now I place my order online on Thursday evening and pick it up early Friday morning and go on with my life.
The other is being able to work from home...absolutely love it. I don't have to deal with commuting, dressing a certain way, or annoying coworkers.
Trying to look for a silver lining in this miserably dark cloud. <sigh>

Working from home is so much better, I'm looking for a job I can do from home permanently even if it pays less. I was able to do a good bit of work from home last year but this year has been back to the trenches.
Why is it so?

The World Health Organization has added another version of coronavirus to its list of “variants of interest” amid concerns that it may partially evade the immunity people have developed from past infection or vaccination.
The Mu variant, also known as B.1.621, was added to the WHO’s watchlist on 30 August after it was detected in 39 countries and found to possess a cluster of mutations that may make it less susceptible to the immune protection many have acquired.
According to the WHO’s weekly bulletin on the pandemic, the Mu variant “has a constellation of mutations that indicate potential properties of immune escape”. Preliminary data suggests it may evade immune defences in a similar way to the Beta variant first discovered in South Africa, the report adds, but this needs to be confirmed by further work.

I'm so tired of masks that I didn't think to wear one while blowing parched leaves from the roof and decks today. Hello, ragweed season.
If I couldn't annoy coworkers, I'd never drive to town.
