Just got home from the doctor.   Probable sinus infection that most likely started with a mild case of omicron.  She said that doctors are going nuts because omicron presents differently in everybody.  I have been battling my sinuses for two weeks but figured it was my usual semi-annual sinus infection made worse by whatever the wind blew in a couple weeks ago.

Dandy.  Waiting for the pharmacy to let me know my antibiotics are ready to pick up.

At one time our CVS was a week behind in filling non emergency prescriptions and would not answer the phone. With this outbreak I can't imagine it's changed much.

I gave up on CVS years ago. The place I use is not the most convenient since it doesn't have a drive thru...but they are pretty damned efficient. I am hoping that too many people don't find that out.

The U.S. Treasury told Arizona officials on Friday it may claw back some of the state's pandemic aid funds and withhold future disbursements unless the state stops or redesigns education grant programs aimed at schools without mask mandates.

In a letter to Arizona Governor Doug Ducey's office, the Treasury said that two programs, including a $163 million grant program for schools that follow state laws banning public school mask mandates, are "ineligible uses" of State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds.

$10 million Arizona program deemed ineligible offers $7,000 education grants to families of students for alternative instruction if their school requires face coverings.

Hana Horka, 57, was unvaccinated and had posted on social media that she was recovering after testing positive, but died two days later.

Her son, Jan Rek, said she got infected on purpose when he and his father had the virus, so she could get a recovery pass to access certain venues.

She had wanted to catch Covid so there would be fewer restrictions on her movement, Mr Rek explained.

Two days before she died, she wrote on social media that she was recovering: "Now there will be theatre, sauna, a concert".

On Sunday morning, the day she died, Ms Horka said she was feeling better and dressed to go for a walk. But then her back started hurting, so she went to lie down in her bedroom.

"In about 10 minutes it was all over," her son said. "She choked to death".

Britain is going to get rid of all mandatory COVID restrictions. My guess is that this is a bone to the Conservatives to stave off calls within Boris Johnson's own party for his resignation.

Honestly, we will have to get to this point eventually. With everyone who wants it getting boosters ever 6 months, we will just to say "take your chances" if we can keep hospitalizations at a reasonable level.

The problem with Johnson's actions, is that the spike is only half-way down, and it is likely too early to do this type of change. If people see the numbers spike again, no-one will feel safe frequenting all those businesses who are calling for full re-opening, when the government has declared "everyone for themselves".

I looked at the website.  Certainly the text sounds like bullshit, but it is possible that it is a bad publicist.

People do use AI and supercomputers to come up with ideas for new drugs, based on probability of binding to particular molecules or proteins.  It isn't an exact science, and it says nothing about whether it works in the body. Heck, someone just stated that some Canabinoids neutralize the COVID spike protein. That doesn't mean it will ever get to be a drug.

It Djokovic is the main investor, I say he is getting taken.

I’d say it’s bizarre. You can only go to certain places if you’re either vaccinated or recently got sick? Isn’t the usual deal vaccination or recent negative test?
