That's likely true (at least for Australia), but something (read: virologists and my own experience in a country whose President doesn't really give a shit about the pandemic) tells me that the only reason that the only reason more people are going to die of suicide and the economic complications of COVID in Australia is because they did a good job of containing the virus before it got too bad. Evidently, in Australia, the lockdowns are a victim of their own success. Something tells me that if you get your way too fast, that will no longer be the case.
