Arkansas’ governor says it ‘was an error’ to ban mask mandates.

The argument that parents should decide if their kids wear masks is silly.  Should parents decide the curriculum?  Should parents decide if their kids can chew gum in class?  Will they bring enough for everyone?  They'll certainly bring enough virus.  Luckily, a judge stayed the law.  School districts are already mandating masks.

Biden called Asa to pledge more help and thank him for going town to town encouraging vaccinations.  Arkansas is down to 8 ICU beds because Trumpkins won't get vaxed.  There's been about 18 deaths per day the last two weeks.  More to come.

I saw a meme the other day - I'm paraphrasing - but essentially it said that if schools can't enforce a mask mandate it was time to test the wearing of spaghetti strap shirts, super short shorts and skirts, etc.

So, our dipshit governor here in Texas won't back a mask mandate and is happy to send kids back to school this month but is now asking for help from medical personnel from other states to come here and help with the latest surge in hospitalization because we have run out of staff to handle this new wave.

If his miserable self would work toward promoting some prevention we wouldn't constantly be having to play catchup.

They don’t WANT the pandemic to get better, because they’re terrified that Biden will get credit for it. They’re perfectly willing to sacrifice tens of thousands of lives (even those of their own constituents) as long as they can be seen to be ‘tough’ in the face of nanny state oppression.

A wall is worthless.
A minefield would work - but is unacceptable to the finer sensabilities of the more civilized among us.
But - if we leaked it to the press that we were considering testing a minefield - faked a few deaths - and then vociferously denied using mines - social media would do the rest - convincing everyone the whole border was mined.....

We look bad (we do anyway) and less people would die trying risky crossings....

I get you, I am at the point where anti-mask and anti-vax people - I don't give one ripe fuck for what happens to then, I only care to the extent that they impact the rest of us, particularly those who cannot get vaccinated.

I've completely lost patience with such people.

Something additional that I've not head addressed yet are the inevitable higher hospital/medical costs (big time cost shifting will happen) and consequently higher medical insurance rates.

I don't really give a damn about them dying. My concern is with those they harm or kill with their own stupidity.
