Apparently, one of Trump’s advisors apparently convinced him that he was going to win because of COVID. And the rationale is something you need to hear for yourself.





So, health care is a major issue that they lost on during the midterms. However, health care is being replaced in the news cycle by something else: COVID. Therefore, thanks to COVID, they don’t have to focus so much on health care, and therefore, they’re likely to win. Why, yes, this does ignore the fact that COVID is not only a health care issue, but the biggest health care crisis in over a century.

Florida wrote natural immunity into state law this week as GOP lawmakers elsewhere are pushing similar measures to sidestep vaccine mandates. 

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported in August that COVID-19 survivors who ignored advice to get vaccinated were more than twice as likely to get infected again. A more recent study from the CDC, looking at data from nearly 190 hospitals in nine states, determined that unvaccinated people who had been infected months earlier were five times more likely to get COVID-19 than fully vaccinated people who didn't have a prior infection.

My gf got COVID (probably Alpha) in Spring, March or April. She then got vaccinated in June (Biontech). She got COVID again in November.

A new experimental chewing gum could help reduce the amount of coronavirus particles in saliva and help slow transmission according to a new study published in the journal Molecular Therapy.

The gum is a source of protein that “traps” virus particles. This may limit the spread droplets containing virus in people who are breathing, talking, and coughing.

“Chewing gum containing virus-trapping proteins is an affordable strategy to protect patients from most oral viral infections by debulking or limiting transmission to others,” the study authors wrote.

Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania tested the chewing gum in test tubes using saliva and swabs samples of patients admitted to hospitals who had confirmed COVID-19.

The gum is a source of the ACE2 protein found on cell surfaces, which is the “spike” protein that coronavirus utilizes to break into cells and infect them
