It's precarious to point out any "silver linings" to COVID-19 - to do so would always be in EXTREME bad taste, however, as with many things, in my experience the bigger and darker the cloud the more shiny and brilliant the silver lining(s). The immense reduction in carbon emissions stemming from the reduction in travel and other forms of consumption/economic activities....might even show us dopey humans that it's possible to live well while being (relatively) green. And for the record brewer, I loved and love my one remaining granpy, not to mention my mum, and wish death on nobody.

I'm in the higher percent of the age/condition/death curve so pull the pineapple (or aussie equivalent) out of your butt. I'm just having bit-o-fun.

If I tell you that I'm a republican do I make it onto the wish list?

With the shut downs and now POS economy it will be interesting to see what people consider "essential"  when the dust settles.

Once this is over, insane consumption will remain-assert itself (though it may take a while).

The three basic human emotions are greed, fear and greed. We just happen to be in the ‘fear’ cycle right now.

I'm sure Scorcese agrees with you 100 on that. I'm very far from convinced you're actually that grim, defeatist and pessimistic IRL RE humanity however as I've generally found you to be a decent, intelligent, witty fellow so there is that.

Really?  Who says that?  I am 'older' and not anywhere close to being right wing and I doubt I will ever get that old.  The hippy in me hasn't really changed all that much in all these decades.   Dodgy

I'll just add - get off my lawn you young whippersnapper.

I'm 45 and a liberal so I guess I'm not old enough?
