RE: I have given up smoking 6 months ago , but ...
The chemical addiction is slight, the brainwashing and cognitive errors are very large however, and that's where the real smoking addiction demon resides. I found quitting easy and enjoyable. I am not lying or delusional (said no delusional person ever, but still).

I am appreciative of your civil tone, I think I may have been starting to lose my rag a little there. I did not read the book, I listened to the audiobook, all in one day - 6.5 hours - and made around 7 sides of A4 notes. Far from being a terrible book it was the most fascinating, optimistic, eye-opening and relevant book I've ever consumed. I think also that taking it in audiobook format appealed to my notions regarding talking cures and therapeutic technique in general.

Ashwin, you didn't enjoy life with your bad habits, your addictions controlled you and rewarded you for feeding them. And all the while they were going to kill you ugly on down the line. Do not regret they're gone, exult that you now have choices you can make for yourself. In the US I pass cold, miserable people outside the VA hospital, they have to be out there, no smoking inside. Some get a touch of frostbite. Very attractive when your nose turns black.

Well, great let's have a wank to being free from addiction but there is still the next thing...

What do we do with all this time on our hands?

Oh, I smoke a cigar every once in a while. Oh my god how I love a cigar about once a month maybe less! When you space them out you get super buzzed. It goes so very well with a nice sweaty glass of Ardbeg, Lagavulin, or even Evan Williams.

I look at cigarette prices today and I smile. A pack now costs what a carton did then, or more. I smoke 2-3 packs a day.

Well you can prove anything that's even remotely true with facts! Wink

Nice graphs. I've had most of these things. I want to try the versions spelled with "k" though; sounds exotik! And MariHuana?! I've had Marijuana... dumb joke is dumb.

Any chance of getting those graphs in English? Also, I hope you're not equating "difficulty in giving up" with "level of physiological addiction/withdrawal." Tricks of the mind rule the roost.

ETA so the table linked is in English - but I'd need to know how they arrived at their figures TBH, although the table does acknowledge that the psychological dependency is far stronger than the physical dependency. Wrong yourself then Deesse23 you refute your own objection hahaha!

You can still drink tea, just sweeten with a substitute. Stevia isn't too bad but that taste really bums some people out.
