And god damnit if they call Obama a progressive one more time! A progressive doesnt continue failed and costly wars. A progressive doesnt write bills that force yo to buy private insurance or be penalized by the IRS. A progressive doesnt beat around the bush about civil rights, or gay rights, or minority rights. A progressive speaks softly and carries a big stick. A progressive would tell DC and New york, and Chicago that their gun bans are unconstitutional. A progressive would say that our imperialism has gone to far and costs too much and has made us enemies of damn near everyone. A progressive would stand up to wall street and the bankers and protect the citizens from their unhinged and outrageous usury. A progressive would stand up and be very clear about what the immigration laws and what constitutes a citizen according to the constition. A progressive is peaceful but ready to go to battle and make the ENEMY (not the citizen, like these fascist imperialists keep spreading around) pay the price to defend freedoms, even if those freedoms mean people believing things they dont agree with. A progressive is disgusted by greed, and taking advantage of his fellow citizens. A progressive doesnt sit back and let schools get closed for lack of funding so the rich can get even more tax breaks. A progressive doesnt get intimidated by fascists, or authoritarian types. He or she stands their ground for what is right and just.

We need another Roosevelt in office to fix this fascist mess we are in right now.

A progressive would move beyond the constitution wherever it is outdated or poorly designed, as it is not sacrosanct.

A progressive would hardly stop a war that they are winning, but they would stop all of the wars that they are entrenched in and that are getting them nowhere and that are continued for no rational reason.

It is not freedom that any law-binding body grants, it is a notation of what freedoms have zero consequences, and what the consequences for certain actions are.

A progressive is, on the contrary: always trying to get ahead. This is called 'progress', and oftentimes the acts of greed enacted by others slows or stops it.

Well said Aer. Teddy Roosevelt wanted to amend the constitution to make it easier to amend the constitution. The only problem if he had of done that could you immagine what the coorporate butt boys have crammed according to their hatreds into the constitution by now? A progressive would be very cautious of such amendments to the basic charter of our nation, but would move it forward none the less. My view point? Dont fuck with the bill of rights. The first ten amendments (not saying the others like womens rights and no slavery are any less important) is the very basic foundation of a representative republic. You cannot have free commerce of ideas and proterty without them.
