[Serious] Question for the Trump supporters

RE: Question for the Trump supporters
To make a statement like that, you are completely clueless as to the political climate in the US.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

I should note that he doomed the oil market, and global economy too when he spoiled MBS of Saudi Arabia, to the degree of the latter making a fight with Putin then launch oil war; leading to the U.S's and Saudi Arabia's shooting themselves in the foot.

America is losing its shale oil, while Saudies are losing their whole economy. All because of Trump's populist foreign policy and ignorance.

I don’t support him. Never have.

But in the past the environment here wouldn’t even accept arguments for him... serious or otherwise. It was a discussion turn-off button that instantly turned a debate-low time into a no debate zone.

People were, and likely still are too vitriolic about the issue.

For me, I’ve never had a good president. Bush and Clinton were both so much worse than Trump it isn’t even funny, and Obama looked and sounded one hell of a lot better than he actually was. Trump for me is more of the same president who’s been in office all the years of my life, just with a really bad paint job.

Interestingly, both the biggest help and biggest deterrence to my own life came from Obama. Biggest help was when he snuck transgender stuff through via memos that literally nobody was actually asking for in any obvious capacity, and they were a huge blessing... even if the way I got them was shady as fuck. Presidential memos are like that, way too much power in the presidents hands, too much effect on policy... which isn’t to say I like even a single person in Congress. Perhaps Lisa Murkowski? But what she does for Alaskan interests is the reason for that.

The biggest deference for me has been Obamacare. Prices for my surgery jumped, leapt, and then screamed upwards. The system bled me for so much of my money which I could have saved, and had been saving until I suddenly had to pay an additional 4X my phone bills every single month. It’s got its uses, sure, but it’s the perfect storm middle solution of worst of both worlds: the worst of capitalist healthcare, and the worst of socialist healthcare in one cheery package.

Never mind literally creating isis AND starting the Arab spring. The economic migration troubles of Europe can be linked to Obama (and his choicest of state secretaries). Trump sounds like a jackass, and he acts like a great big blundering elephant....

But he hasn’t actually done much of anything, by the previous three presidents standards. No huge shakeup federal laws, no huge new conflicts have happened, no obvious conspiracies have come out of his office yet (certainly not the Russia thing).

If i could have every one of my presidents accomplish so little as trump has: I would absolutely love it. I wish he hadn’t even ‘accomplished’ as much as he has.

The only reason that people chose Trump over Hillary Clinton was because she was literally Hillary Clinton. Finally an option who could do the damage of our twenty worst presidents all at once, to say nothing of the corruption, skating by on the email evidence destruction... and my goodness: It’s Her Turn.

Fucking Jesus himself, that was so disgusting.

The only incredible thing about this is that for second time around the democrats are running Joe Biden o_____o Better than Hillary? Oh yes, Gobs better. Better than Trump? I mean.. He’s going crazy, and he’s throwing out insane changes constitutionally. Why do our presidents have to be so fucking old anyways?

I remember Martin O’Malley on the debate stage in 2016. Why the fuck didnt they choose him? Especially in 2020, has his head gone crazy in the last 4 years or something? Or tulsi gabbard, I mean I don’t really like her for some certain similarities to not liking Hillary (not the real bad stuff though for what I know, just past beliefs and decisions I find a bit gross), but she would certainly be a bitter pick than Biden or Hillary are.

Biden running 4 years ago would have been a very different story. He’d have won *easily*. Now stuff’s coming out that just make him as gross to me as Trump’s ever was in a soundbite. To say nothing of his dementia, he’s not well, and frankly him still running is a bit cruel.

@plumb: basically, that’s the gist of how that always goes, innit?

There’s really no point to a political ‘discussion’ absent discussion.... and the debate is over before it begins.

I would seriously vote for it. Last time I was trapped to not voting for anyone: every option (greens and libertarians too) was just so bad and crazy.

This time I’ll vote, but if nothing’s changed there; it’s going to Vernon Supreme.

either they supported trump because they were schizophrenics and sociopaths to begin with, or they supported trump and the contortion required to excuse the colossal misjudgment had filled in any gap that might have been there between them and schizophrenics and sociopaths.

No and no.

Isis formed out of Al Quaeda in Iraq as the previous leadership was eliminated and replaced by less sane individuals.

Economic migration in Europe is result of the constitution of Europe applied to former Warsaw Pact populations as they are admitted to the EU.

I'll be the first to admit, I'm not exactly crazy about how much democrats have been focusing on investigating Trump. Not that I like Trump, but I'd rather beat him with policy than mud slinging.

However, the republicans will NEVER sign any kind of legislation that would reduce congressional investigation of the president. After all, how much time and money did they piss away investigating Obama and Bill Clinton before him?

Don't go pretending the political investigation of the president is anything new. It's not. It's been going on for as long as I've paid attention to politics. There was a brief pause in the mid 2000's, mostly because Bush's policy was so unpopular we didn't need to investigate him. Otherwise, it's seemed like there's always been one investigation or another. If you can't handle that, or if you can't handle that while doing the rest of your job, you don't need to be president.

It is not mud slinging.  This country’s democracy and rule of law can not possibly be long for this world, or even suffer a peaceful demise, even if trump is defeated This fall,   if trump is not investigated and sent to jail pretty much forever as an indisputable warning to any future political party or interest who seeks to gain their agenda in a manner the GOP has.

Investigating trump to the ultimate conclusion, regardless of how small a fraction of that would already be sufficient to send him and cadre to Jail for an eternity, is a matter of absolutely life and death for the United States as it had been known for the past 245 years.
