A lynching does not automatically mean the act was racially motivated.  

Were they racist?  Based on where they live and knowing that type of area I can say it wouldn't surprise me.

Yeah well the guy on the bottom pic looks to be about 6' 4'', and the guy in the other pic seems to be a little more portly, neither would be be mistaken for the guy in the klan photo however.

Older white men with that facial hair style are as common as they come in the south.  Also common are the wire rimmed glasses.  At no point did I claim it could be one of them.  I am pointing out that the pictures offered as 'proof' aren't convincing.  Yes, they look similar...so do hundreds, if not thousands, of old white guys.
