Yea, it isn't all cracked up for what people make it out to be. Been there, done that.
7-11, Papa Johns, day labor construction work, retail, fast food. Spend 7 years of washing dishes at a breakfast place on Easter Sunday. Fun times.
That’s funny - thought Easter Sunday was just one day. When did they change it?

Meh, I used to shoot people for $8.47/day. Minimum wage was higher than that back then.

That's quite a bargain.
I usually pay $200 a day to shoot people.

The point was for 7 years I went through getting analy raped on the weekends, not just Easter Sunday. And during the summer every day was like Easter Sunday.
Imagine dishes and pots piled up to the ceiling and all the cooks run out at the end of the shift with nobody to help you?
Papa Johns was fun too. Snow storm, hurricane, and having to drop whatever you are doing to answer the phone, then get another call from some impatient asshole who cant understand what weather is. Then, get in your car and deal with ice or downpour rain, depending on time of year, and get yelled at when you finally get there because they are to stupid to understand weather. Having your insurance drop you for finding out is fun too. You don't even have to have an accident.
I actually omce had a triple delivery, and the first place I went to, were town houses. The house next to the place I was going to, the smoke detector was going off. I asked the guy I delivered to to call the fire department. i waited there until the fire department showed up. Turned out some stupid kid had left their TV dinner in the oven too long. But what happens when I go to my next delivery, the asshole yelled at my like I murdered his family. How was I to know it was not a major fire?
I have worked in the blazing heat and freezing cold as a day laborer at a housing development. Fun sweating your ass off wondering if you were going to die from heat stroke. Also fun freezing your ass off too. Oh and the breakfast place I dishwashed at, had no air conditioning in the kitchen. August was fun.
So yea, while I have all the empathy in the world for low wage workers, I also don't want to work till I die. I would like to enjoy some of my life before I die.

I got paid less than that when I wasn't shooting people. BTW, that's $0.35/hr.

Brian37, I think you have a difficult time accepting that there are people who's brains are wired very differently than yours. The fact that there are people who vote for world leaders based on who they think has the most attractive hair style is very unfortunate but I don't know how much it has to do with education. People like you and I and probably most of us on this message board place a high premium on science, logic and rationality. Unfortunately, there are many people who simply don't value those things so much. I don't know that you can change them through education. To some degree, maybe.
I think we need to accept that people like us don't own the world. We share it with people who seem irrational to us. The challenge is selling our viewpoint to all the people sitting on the fence who are listening to us and to the other side. I don't think your approach is very useful because it will sound shrill and hysterical to a neutral party. I think a level headed and pragmatic approach is better that OMFG - WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT THESE IDIOTS!!!?
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

7-11 was fun too. Especially at night, when you had to stock the store on a busy Friday or Saturday night, and wonder if that drunk was going to punch you for asking for an ID or someone was going to rob you.

Bazooka or it doesn't count. Bazookas are the only way to shoot people. Gotta have the "splat" factor for it to be fun. Like this.

Did they pay you extra for the anal rape, or was it considered a benefit? BTW, it’s ‘anally’, not ‘analy’.
