You don't actually have an issue with barricades, then.

By all means, disabuse me of the notion. Tell me that you have a problem when barricades and checkpoints are thrown up so that an asshole can waddle to a church to hold a bible upside down after gassing the priest.

I'm for baracades when they're called for. Baracades are a typical security step when a president is out in public. Whether or not he should have taken the walk can be debated.
