It wasn't incidental at all; it was the "motive" that moved him to commit the terrorist attack.
The terrorist didn't even kill in his native country; rather he took the terrorist attack to New Zealand, he just wanted to butcher Muslims.

It was not because he was "confused" like you try to show in your post; rather he was very focused and sane Islamophobic terrorist.

For this guy, it was great replacement propaganda. OK, the guy was evil. He took a deluded viewpoint, and used it to kill innocent people. He should be roundly condemned. His version of anti-Islam was pathological and should be renunciated by all right thinking people.
