The islamophobia was incidental - his belief in racial elimination triggered the massacre.

It wasn't incidental at all; it was the "motive" that moved him to commit the terrorist attack.
The terrorist didn't even kill in his native country; rather he took the terrorist attack to New Zealand, he just wanted to butcher Muslims.
It was not because he was "confused" like you try to show in your post; rather he was very focused and sane Islamophobic terrorist.
Stop calling this maniac other names except for the name he deserves which is "a white supremacist terrorist."
Why don't you want to admit that the extremism is a human state regardless of religion?
Why don't you want to admit that just like "some non-Muslims" get that disease, "some Muslims" also get it?
Why do you want me not to simply "condemn the act and the motives" of this terrorist?
Is it so hard for your moral system to see that your whole xenophobic mentality is maybe wrong?
Here is the conclusion of leaving non-Islamic extremism role and roar. It began to chop the western culture from the inside. And xenophobic westerners like you still damn the Muslims even though they're seeing their own butchering them all around the world.

Islamophobia is common, mass murders are not. Clearly, something more than mere islamophobia is required to take your run of the mill bigot and turn them into a terrorist. For this guy, it was great replacement propaganda. I don't know that anyone would put the sane stamp on that - but we can say, provided you believe in that sort of claptrap, a terrorist act can seem sane and rational. It would be consistent with his beliefs about the world around him. We could repeat this for the 9/11 bombers and run of the mill Great Satan propagandists as well.
OFC extremism is a human state, and it relies on ideologies that can strongly compel people to act. Religion sits pretty high up there on the list of things that strongly compel people to act. I suspect that our christian dominionists will act just like your islamists given the chance - and they have. Obviously, you can condemn whatever you like, but I think that you should probably understand what you're condemning.
A person was made to believe that the other guys were coming to kill his people, that they hated his people and were actively wiping them out. Because he could be convinced of this absurdity - he could be compelled to atrocity. The act of terrorism was a rational product of his view - and it's a rational product of any similar view, no matter who the other guy and your people are supposed to be in any specific context.

When I said all extremist humans are the same, I did mean what I said "literally".
In other words; it's not like Muslim extremists are from Venus while White extremists are from Mars.
Extremism is a human state and both of us agreed on that, after that I don't agree with you.
The red text is what I believe to be "bigotry" from your own side; and trying to justify the terrorism of Tarrant as being a "person who misunderstood a phenomena"; while I stand with the court in New Zealand that locked that garbage behind bars for life without parole.
I repeat shaming you for not calling this foul animal for what he deserves to be called, I shame you for having second thoughts about indirectly excusing his action -read the bit I colored in red from your response-.
When Al Qaeda did 9/11 you enlisted in the U.S army. But when Tarrant the terrorist did a far worse crime you didn't even condemn him right.
Who's biased and brainwashed in your opinion?

Could you be more explicit in explaining why you think the emphasized passage displays bigotry? I'm a white girl, so maybe I'm just blind to it, but I'm not seeing what you seem to be seeing.

OK, the guy was evil. He took a deluded viewpoint, and used it to kill innocent people. He should be roundly condemned. His version of anti-Islam was pathological and should be renunciated by all right thinking people.
In fact, *any* such hatred that leads to the mass milling of innocent people because of a deluded philosophy should be condemned. Agreed?

Extremism is a human state and both of us agreed on that, after that I don't agree with you. We certainly don't have to agree about everything.

I didn't notice anyone advocating for his release.
He didn't misunderstand anything. He heard the propaganda, believed it, and did what would be -if you believed it- a rational act. That's the utility of great replacement theory - it manipulates our response to existential threats.

Already in the service as a peacekeeper in kosovo. We've had this discussion a couple of times.

At work.
Wait? Is WinterHold trying to conflate the Twin Tower impacts and the indepth organization of such with the New Zealand incident? Dafaq?
Also.... fek yes lets get invaded by the Kiwi's! We'll surrender to them without them having to fire a shot.
Their PM seems to have s good handle on how to run things. Don't see no new Covid cases over their side of the Tasman
Heck, I'm sure we could do some sort of 'Package deal' where we throw Victoria and its plague carrying Melbourne-ites off somewhere......

We are New Zealand. Fear us.
There's a secret plan in which we're going to settle the terrorism issue once and for all, as soon as our highly-trained anti-terrorist task force gets back from visiting his mum.
