Did you test positive?

At least with spiders, I can spray them to death or even easily squash them with my shoes if they're on the ground. Hell, I'll even use my bare hands to squash them if needs be and they don't look too dangerous. With rats you can't simply do that.

Mice as well, btw.

A 22 lr pistol with #12 dust shot is lethal on rats to 20 feet - but will not take the paint off of baseboard trim.... I know this from experience.

Why do you f***** have such hate towards an arachnid who will aid you in killing the pesky flies and other assorted small pests? All they want is to chill out in some corner or even out of sight in yo house and wait for dinner to pass by. They ain't, unlike cockroaches, walking across your face when you're sleeping.

The only time I am fussed over spiders is when I pull the cover off the pool skimmer and am met with a big fat black widow and her sack of killer babies.  This happens more often than I like.

Years ago I was cleaning out an old dog crate that was outside.  In the corner was a decent sized black widow.  I grabbed a can of some sort of bug killer spray.  I didn't give her a gentle misting but sprayed enough to create a puddle of the insecticide in the corner of the crate.  I finally knocked her into the puddle with the can.  She curled up for a few seconds then extended her legs and crawled up out of the poison...I swear I saw her flex. The brick I grabbed from a pile behind the garage stopped her.

Second in line for creepy are the ones that carry a bazillion babies on their backs.

Other than that I am not freaked out about spiders.

When I spot long-bodied cellar spiders (some people call them daddy-long legs) in the garage or outside, I leave them alone. They can't hurt me, and they compete against the black widows, and a new arrival to our area, "cosmopolitan" brown widows. I get that they have a job to do, but only the ones that can't hurt me are allowed.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

Let me mention, again, funnelwebs.

Son is also terrified of spiders...it's not genetic...at least not in connection with my husband who is not my son's father.

Does he know that?

Spider went "splat!".

"Wrinklies".  Up here, we call them "old farts" or "grand parents" or when pressed, "me and the wife".

Or should that be "when not pressed"?

I'm no good at killing flies, but I can draw them like nobody's tomorrow...after a good run.

It means they’re in the placebo group.
