Nope. I won by exercising my right as a free citizen in a free country to watch 90 minutes of Three Stooges shorts.

No, if there is a match in shouting, then even if brain dead, the democracy still has a heart beat.

The right wing might try to make the corpse of democracy twitch from time to time with strings all pulled with their hands, but they don’t care for the body to actually have any autonomous heart beat.   Just look at Putin’s russia.

If tramp gets a second term, he will probably also get a third, in darkness.

Um no, Biden won. Not in an "Obama v Mitt" "Go right ahead" moment, no.

But between Trump acting like a petulant asshole childish brat, and Chris constantly admonishing him, Biden won by simply letting the fucker hang himself.

But in a general sense, I have to agree, nobody wins in either party when the process get's turned into an episode of Jerry Springer or WWE.

But this to me hurt Trump far more. And that to me is a good thing for us.

Convince me.

I'm of the position that some minimal level of pluralism and non-partisanship is required for a democracy to function in elections. This "debate" didn't even have that tiny amount of decency in it.

I rolled my eyes when Trump derided Biden's son, which was the only time that I noticed he got Biden noticeably angry with this petulant bully.

If Trump wins, and I still think the asshole has a real chance, I predict a transparently fascist dictatorship by 2022, and civil war the same year that will be quickly over. Extermination. Afterwards the long night begins.

There aren't enough people who haven't made up their minds who they are voting for.  At this point, the debates are just for show.  The election is just over a month away and if Trump hasn't turned a person off by now then having a screaming tantrum, like we've come to expect, isn't going to accomplish anything.

The reality is Trump came across as a schoolyard bully and unpresedential. These networks hosting these debates need to grow a sack and start cutting mics. Or are they too scared of Trumpies getting mad at them? Also they need to do fact checks during the debate. Kind of like how the hosts on CSPAN do with callers.

That's not true, it's a comfortable lie that the american left tells themselves about the american right.  In reality, they know that he's using them just as well as he knows that they are using him.  They don't really live in an alternative reality making up what they see - they like what they see as-is, and all of the junk you bicker with them about is them flat out trolling you.  They know that too, they pride themselves on it.

They're not actually crazy, they're not delusional...they're something else, something worse, something that we refuse to name.  We'd rather believe that they were crazy, as americans and as their family,...because that would be better...than accepting them for what they are.

I think coved has changed things. It sucks that a pandemic has to be the thing that wakes people up. But under non pandemic conditions, I think your are correct. The bottom line for humans regardless, is that we pretty much don't care about politics until it affects our wallets. This pandemic has affected supporters of both parties and in all zip codes.

Trump, has turned plenty, maybe not enough, but plenty of swing voters against him, and even many republicans, just not in congress.

Cindy McCain has endorsed Biden. Republicans Joe Walsh, John Kasich, long time republicans Joe Scarborough and former RNC chair Michael Steele also see the insanity Trump is causing.

If you want to argue there is a solid base that will never leave the fuckface, I agree. But there are cracks in Trump's Jerry Springer act, and I think it is increasingly wearing thin.
