Why you should fear Trump's pick for Supreme Court Judge

RE: Why you should fear Trump's pick for Supreme Court Judge
Nobody's perfect, and being grilled by our governing body when they know that the fix is in is probably....tense. She shouldn't have taken the bait at all. Her failure wasn't in leaving one out, but in including those four.

It doesn't matter, to her, what's in there.... anyway. She doesn't believe in that dead, dead document. She doesn't like what's in that dead, dead document. She hopes to change it. Sooo..get back to her in a few years, see if she really got that one wrong, and see if the manner in which she got it wrong was in stating that it protected any rights at all.

-I'll add that our primary sin is not taking these people seriously. The fire alarm on christian dominionism was pulled almost 20 years ago and this entire time we've assured ourselves that there's nothing to worry about because these people are buffoons - and we point to their public performance as evidence of that. We're wrong. They're stuck in a difficult position. Willing to be or do or support anyone who would offer them grip on the reigns of government. No one in that position can answer questions well - but, obviously, that doesn't stop them from being the change they want to see in government.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Any college grad and many high school students should get 4 out of 5.  I knew.  (Hand in the air.  Oooo pick me pick me!)  Almost all of her answers have amounted to "I'll have to read up on that."  That's the gal you hire knowing she won't make it past 90 days.  You're goddamn right it's embarrassing.  Just when I thought I was numb to it.

Even then, it shouldn't be enough new seats to make liberal justices a majority, just enough for parity. If the court can manage not to piss off the public, congress shouldn't add seats. They SHOULD add PR as a state, though.

The main problem is the math. If adding justices is supposed to repair GOP fuckery, there's no number that restores balance without unintentionally tipping the court.

Evangelicals generally have little use for Catholics and don't even consider them to be Christians.  Some go so far as to think Catholics are actually Satanists.  I don't think a devout, old school, traditionalist Catholic is in the top five choices when it comes to Evangelicals.  Barrett's selling point is being a Trump pawn.  She could be on the stand answering questions while throwing out chicken bones and murmuring voodoo chants...wouldn't matter to the die hard Trumpians.

Except that she's from a charismatic sect of Catholicism, which to evangelicals is probably just as good. The faithful always find ways to abandon differences and rally round the flag of opposing secularism, atheism, and the godless communist heathens.

Did majority of Americans wanted the GOP to steal a Supreme Court seat?

Turning the other cheek simply means both of your cheek bones will be broken.    By the time the public turns against the GOP, there would be no recognizable United States left.

No they did not. But if a majority of the public doesn't support adding seats to the court, we'll be handing the Senate back to the Republicans in 2022, and guess what happens to a Biden nominee at any level then? It's not turning the other cheek, it's not walking into a sucker punch. The conservative court obstructing FDR changed their tune when packing the court became a real possibility, and that's what we should hope for, because if Dems add three, the Republicans will add five next time they're in power.

Exactly this.

Get your robes now -

Because if this shit starts - eventually we will ALL be Justices - and there will be a robe shortage....

I am sure the concern you profess is truly the outcome that your ilk is focused on avoiding.

It is infinitely better for there to be a robe shortage than a surplus of conservative justices Seated by duplicitous and fraudulent means.

If you think the republicans will be less likely to try to manipulate the justice count when it suits their objective merely because you refrained when it is to your advantage, you have not been living on this continent since 1994.

Do you truly believe what the republicans will Gleefully and contemptuously  do to your if you held your fire Out of caution and moderation, will not be as bad as what they might do to your out of vengeance if you hit as hard as you can whenever you Can?

In the second case, you at least stand the chance of stunning them and weakening them and make them also worry what you might them further down the line.

In the first case you will just reaffirm they Can freely string your up by the balls whenever it amuses them because you are too timid to ever take revenge.   So they will freely string you up by your balls whenever it amuses them.

The underlying dynamics of the politics of this country has degenerated from the balance of courtesy to the Balance of terror from 1994-2008.  The side that lives in more terror of what its enemies might do In return is the side that effectively disarms itself and has effectively already lost.   All that is left for it is to climb voluntarily into the casket.     Wake up.

You're imagining a lot of things about my thoughts based on little that I've actually said. Wipe the spittle from your mouth when you get a chance, please.

They're going to punch you either way, whether you walk into it, or they have to chase you down and bean you in the back of the head. They'd likely prefer your back be turned, imo.

What you feel on your face are not my spittles.    It is the drizzle inside the comforting fog of delusion you wrap around yourself.
