Well, you be lucky that you live where you do.  Great I has a jelly for that.  Blush

NZ's PM just won re-election by a landslide.

No coalition government for the first time in years.

There's nowhere to go. I mean if US falls to Russian oligarchs you can imagine that the rest of the west is pretty fucked. Like in Canada where Kremlin guys are already trying to host dinners with business leaders and spread those golden handcuffs around.
Or the UK and Londongrad where the government has been suppressing reports, investigations into Kremlin corruption and how it influences British politics.
Steve Bannon can happen anywhere. White terrorism can happen anywhere. It even happened in New Zealand when that massacre happened.

People have to stand and fight because the reason they have/ had nice things is because people in the past fought for it.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Hey! Faints

I don't plan to go anywhere; I feel like SC is turning into a swing state and I want to be here to help it swing.

My SO has dual citizenship and has MS; if she loses her coverage we may have to move to a country with universal healthcare whether I like it or not, to keep her MS from progressing rapidly. One of the meds she takes costs almost as much as I make in a year. I'm old enough to retire and financially I can retire to Canada if necessary; if they start accepting Americans again.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

I've thought that I might like to live in Canada for a long time, but I wouldn't move because of Trump. I have too much tying me to here, including actually caring about this country.

I might head back to Sweden. Only thing keeping me in the US at this point is my kids and grandkids.
"Tradition" is just a word people use to make themselves feel better about being an asshole.

I don't know where you are in SC but I was in the middle of no damn where in an area that's know ravaged with meth labs and users.

I hope you SO manages okay where ever you end up.

If you were so inclined, Canada wouldn’t have been a bad choice. Word is, they’ve learned to speak some English there, so you wouldn’t have to learn Canadese.
