How do you navigate these fora?

How do you navigate these fora?
Since I am new here I am unfamiliar with all the different fora here—plus I see many fora with latest posts older than a day etc. So I usually click on “Today’s posts” and see new threads there and add comments.

How do others navigate this site? Any good tips or tricks?

When you log in, there’s a list of fora and sub-fora to choose from.

I almost always go for the "today's posts" at the top of the screen.

And - welcome.  Ask away if you have questions.

Since I land here nearly every day at least once, "Todays posts" suits me fine. If you are not a daily visitor, "new posts" might be more appropriate. "my posts" gets you the threads you are actually participating in.

I have no idea why this is difficult.

I don't think asking for pointers from the usual suspects based on their experience means that difficulty is involved.

Say hello and pass on your helpful hint to our new member.

There is no difficulty—I am just curious to know others’ habits here. I have been mostly to fora with very few subcategories so never really had any second thoughts. But “today’s posts” or “new posts” seem like pretty useful shortcuts.

Ah, your question is about habits, OK. For me, clicking "Todays posts" makes sense since I hit this site most days. If one were more intermittent in visits, "new posts" might be more appropriate.

Fundamentally, how I browse suits me. I have no idea what might suit you. All I can do is advise how different features work.

RE: How do you navigate these fora?
I cycle through several forums through the day. Atheist, wood working, truck, metal working and shooting. I use the "New Posts" or its equivalent at all of them. That gets you to what has happened since your last visit, pretty much. If you want to start a new thread, you'll have to drill down to the appropriate forum.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.
