Even outside this virus, I have let people think I am a coward, even at bars long before this.

I won't lie, I could not have been one of the soldiers who landed on the beaches of Normandy. If I had been alive back then, I would have told the draft board, ""I'd be happy to serve pealing potatos state side, but don't put me in combat, I'd get myself killed quickly, or needlessly get others killed" I am definitely not that kind of brave.

But, I have had a couple of occasions at sports bars, where some drunk fuckface overheard me talking about a game, in which they did not like my opinion, and tried to start a fight with me.  Both times I put my hands behind my back and said, " You can beat me up if you want, but if you do, you'll be the one going to jail, not me. I am not going to fight you." Both times the guy said, "Wimp".  Fine if they want to think that, but I prevented physical harm to myself. How is that not smart?
It is exactly the way I handle things. You came away from it all alive, right? So some inconsequential douchebag called you a wimp. Haha.

Speaking of sheep, I have a meme of my own for that guy:

If the majority of humans were "wimps" imagine how much less violence there would be.

Fight and flight both work, but just because you fight for something, doesn't automatically equal survival 100% of the time.

Sure. Anyone who isn't wearing a mask has lost theirs. I have a box in my trunk. I assume anyone without one has lost theirs.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

The guy knew I was talkin about him, and as he left, like a fucking self entitled brat said, "run, run" to me . I said , "wear a mask, wear a mask" and he responded, again like a self entitled little brat, " you have no right to tell me what to do."

And the guy who hosted me both trips to Australia, he has that same mindset too. He posted a meme of sheep wearing masks, with a pic below of a lion not wearing a mask. Really childish shit to me.

I used to. Now I just lift my mask and cough really loud around them.
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.

It is dumb to engage with random strangers.

I avoid people as much as possible and keep my head on a swivel to maintain traffic flow through any store I am in.

The goal should be to make it through this pandemic with your health.

If you engage with dumbasses too stupid to know how to wear a mask properly, or who simply don't believe the science, you are risking exposure. You should stop your behavior and just keep your distance. Nobody is going to award you hero points, although if you do end up in some hilarious video where some maskless gorilla is coughing in your face or some hagard women is bleating closely in your face about her respiratory ailments I'll be right there on the YouTube watching it go down.

I understand the urge, but no.

I don't remember which NBA player did it last year, but after a game, earlier in the pandemic, was asked about his fear of spread, touched on the microphones and ended up getting infected.

Everybody is a stranger. The huge majority of them are random. I amused myself by confounding them.

My statement lacks specificity but, within the context of this thread, it should be clear that I meant within the pandemic. I engage with strangers who are random often. It is one of the most enjoyable things outside of a pandemic.

I was chatting away with a lady in the line ahead of me at Wally World one day. When she had check out and left Boss Lady said "Where do you know her from?"

"Uh, never seen her before."

"You sounded like high school classmates."

"That's because I don't give a fuck."
