Nevertheless, I again remind Winterhold to clean up his own back yard before he starts on the one across the sea.
But Trump -and all American presidents before him- intervened heavily in the affairs of other countries.
Take Trump: he said it loud and clear that 'he protected MBS's ass'. The USA is a global empire; so literally its ghost already exists in most affairs in this world.
So to focus on MBS; I must must focus on his foreign sponsor too who keep him alive..or in Trump's words: "protecting his ass".

I understand your point, but reflect my post to Ranjr on Hawley or any "Trump II" that may come to the office: what kind of damage an evil person like him can do to America and the world?
Trump was close from starting WW3 by hitting Iran -actually that scenario is still on the table-, don't you think Hawley's camp would plan for such a thing to stay in power -if he ever reached presidency- ?

You have less influence over his foreign sponsor than you do your immediate problem. Trump shit his bed and his out. Hawley is under scrutiny and attack by those in his home state. You have nothing to add to that. Your efforts are wasted. Fix your own house.

Josh seems to me to be the kind of figure that gets lionized by later militants. The, "see, our very smart and good people tried every polite and civil avenue and were political prosecuted as martyrs to the cause" crowd. Not the kind of figure that becomes The Dear Leader Himself. FWIW, they need a figure like that to continue to rehabilitate their image. The luminaries behind the movement aren't exactly a picture of american norms and moral warrant.
With respect to analogies to the us' meddling in other countries - it's not unlike any other terrorist becoming a folk hero. I'm sure that no matter what happens, the radical right in our country will be taking selfies with Josh until the day he dies - inviting them onto their programs, disseminating whatever propaganda and products he's selling at a given moment. He lost a book deal, but given how much merch these folks buy, I think he's in the clear....and him or people like him will always exist in our government to serve that market no matter how large or small it is at a given point.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

The next suspect is Josh Hawley:

Quote:Josh Hawley is the most dangerous man in America. He was before the attempted coup. He certainly is now. Like Trump, he has wicked ideas. Unlike Trump, he is not stupid. He knows, surely, that this election was not stolen. He knows, surely, that there was no widespread voter fraud. He knows, surely, that the American people elected Joe Biden and Kamala Harris freely and fairly. He knows, surely, but it seems he does not care.
This is a man who apparently cares only about his own political advancement. He ran for Missouri Attorney General in 2016, promising not to use it as a springboard to higher office. Then, he promptly ran for US Senate in 2018. Barely two years into his first term, he is now jockeying to be the anointed successor of Donald Trump, his eyes firmly fixated on 2024.
Trump was old. Josh is not.
Trump was an idiot. Josh is not.
Trump didn't have experience. Josh has.
So beware, and the date is 2024.
Populism didn't lose; it will evolve. And this is its evolution.
Picking the exacta in the Kentucky Derby in 4 years now that the old horse is going to be retired?
We really don't know who might replace Trump in 2024. But I can agree if there is someone not as bombastic and stupid as Trump, who has the same intent, yes that could be a threat.
