Senate Trial has started.

RE: Senate Trial has started.
Acquitted. Not much of a surprise, but it’s encouraging that seven senators voted to convict. That’s seven more than I expected, as well as seven more than have EVER voted to convict a president of their own party.

Until a major political realignment happens like happened in the mid-sixties, whenever the Republican Party claims they're the party of law and order, NEVER let them forget that they were the party that saw this

And thought "There's no problem here! Trump didn't do anything wrong! How could something like that have possibly led to this?"

"BLM protesters deserve to be tear gassed just so the President can have a little photo op and threaten martial law? But people trying to actively subvert the electoral process and threatening to kill the Vice President, among others and even going so far as to erect a gallows on-site? You out of your minds?"

I'm just hoping some of those "militia" fuckwits use this as an excuse to do something stupid and that the authorities crush them, hard.

It will provide a valuable example to others.

I think a good weapon to use against militias would be for the media to stop referring to them as ‘militias’ and start calling them what they are - domestic terrorists.

You don't quite understand -

The media finds utility iin the "militias"

First understand - the.media inflates the numbers. I have seen this first hand. When the media was reporting the Michigan Militia had over a million members - (1990's) I was there - and know for a fact there was not even 10,000 members. My best guess? Between 4 and 5 thousand. That is a conservative estimate. It was likely lower.

But - the.media loved them - because they "sold newspapers".

The militia was a handy boogeyman. Outta control whackos with guns AND THERE'S MILLIONS OF THEM!!!.

Yeah... Sure...

Believe what you like.

I was there. I saw what I saw.

And it wasn't millions.

The numbers are not the point. The domestic terrorists absolutely delight in the term ‘militia’ - it feeds into their fantasy that they’re some sort of patriotic freedom fighters, when they’re simply a bunch disgruntled lost boys playing at being soldiers. ‘Militia’ is a soft euphemism that adds to their mystique and helps them recruit. The media would would get an even bigger bang by calling the domestic terrorists.

The numbers are exactly the point. It's the name that is moot.

You could call them  Greebfebleax if you like - but when it turns out there are only 6 of them - then the threat is pretty minimal - ya think?

But, Sung, the Government shouldn't even get out of bed for a group of heavily-armed people bent on overthrowing the government unless there's an arbitrarily large number of them! Even if said number is still large enough to overpower the U.S. Capitol Police!

And if they have bombs at government buildings? Pshaw, if they can be disarmed by the bomb squad or if their yield is too low to do much damage, you're an idiot for wanting to hold the bomber accountable!

Democrats also messed up by not calling in witnesses. I mean just compare Clinton's blowjob trial which lasted over a month, and this that was less than a week.

But the Washington DC Attorney General let it be known last night that he’s looking to criminally charge Trump for the insurrection. That could be much more important than impeachment.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
