Senate Trial has started.

RE: Senate Trial has started.
The video

Starts after 0:35

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

T.rump considers himself above the law. This trial will reaffirm an old principle. If they give him the chair I'll volunteer to flip the switch. Flipping off an ex-President is a rare honor.

One of the congressmen, talked about how his daughter got trapped and after the insurrectionists left he found her, and said, " I am so sorry, I promise you the next time you come to Washington it won't be like this, it won't happen again." And he reported that she responded, "I don't want to come back to Washington."

That is so fucked up that the GOP doesn't give a shit about all the mental health issues, not just injury and death, but PTSD that that event has caused, that Trump caused.

An aside, growing up, my parents had a boat in Annapolis MD, and one of the boats in the marina was named "Tigger" with the character painted on the back of the boat. And the first Christmas I can remember after my adoption, my mom bought me a gigantic stuffed Poo Bear. Her favorite character from that cartoon was Eeyore. I even had a stuffed Eeyore, which was small.

But back on topic. What we are seeing in the Senate, being the "Jurors" today is just like the stacked courts, of the 50s and 60s where the judges, prosecution, defense lawyers, and especially the "jurors" when a white person lynched a black man, the system was so stacked there was no objectivity.

Just like the horned guy, yet another insurrectionist who regrets her actions.

Of course it’s about party. Impeachment is a political mechanism.

It does become political yes. Nobody can argue it isn't. But the founders did not put that into the Constitution for political purposes.

They were literally thinking of the abuse of the King they fought to free themselves from. Orwell would have agreed. "Four legs good, two legs bad" and "Double Speak".

When you take into account, not just the power of impeachment, but the 14th and 25 amendments, and not to mention the concepts of oversight and co equal branches, the ideal, isn't to silence political pluralism, but to insure there can be no path to absolute power by any aspect of society.

Yes it is political. But the founders were bent on not letting that lead to authoritarianism.

‘Pooh’, not ‘Poo’. We’ve been over this.

Your founders put impeachment in the Constitution EXPRESSLY to be political. That’s why they arranged for the process to be controlled by politicians.

I find your knowledge of the Founding Fathers' intentions to be ... interesting.
