I'm a Universalist - Can anyone convince me of 'Eternal Damnationism'?

I find universalists easy to get along with, usually. They pick their cherries to make their God out to be less of a bastard, I get that.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

When I was a member of the Connecticut Chapter of American Atheist we had a member who belonged to the Universalist/Unitarian Church. He claimed that over half the church member were actually atheists who were Unitarians so they could socialize on Sundays.

Yes and No.  Yes, half of UUs are atheists.  No, they don't just go to church to socialize (though that is part of any church).

I am an atheist UU.  I find value in debating and learning about various religions.  By understanding why I reject their claims of ultimate truth, I can get a better understanding of my own beliefs.

The idea behind UU is that the shared life journey is more important than beliefs.  Questions that are honestly tackled are more important than easy religious answers.

Eternal damnation is what you get when you annoy a woman enough that she responds, "I'm fine!"
Dying to live, living to die.

That makes sense.  Logic

My attendance had fallen off considerably at the local UU even before Covid, I liked our atheist pastor's sermons but he moved on to a bigger UU in Pennsylvania. I still showed up for lunch with my UU friends after and I still maintain my membership, primarily for the use of their rooms for meetings of the Freethought Society of the Midlands (FSM); currently on plague hiatus.

If the bible is true then we are all screwed (no exceptions - as the bible supports Calvinism and Arminianism, being a Jew and not being a Jew, being a Gentile and not being a Gentile, works-based salvation and nonworks based salvation, being circumcised or not being circumcised and the list goes on ). If it is not, then enjoy your life - unless Joseph Smith really did have special glasses and gold plates.
