Understanding behavior is better than passing judgement on it. (Assuming you care about the lives of these people.) Regardless, you may find the following articles interesting:

I find none of the reasons in the articles compelling enough for me to validate vaccine refusal.

Well, obviously. The articles predicted that you wouldn't lol:

That's interesting, are you a medical professional? People have every right to make decisions concerning their health and their body. Including the refusal or withdrawal of treatment, at any time, even if it seems medically unsound to you. That's not up for debate; that's part of medical moral discourse.

Having a right to do something and having a reason to do something aren't the same thing - just as having a simple aversion to an image isn't a reason or an argument, in the first place, for any kind of discourse.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Was it that obvious to you before you launched into either set of remarks? Gonna be hard to explain either outside of flat trolling, if that's the case.

I bet there are a lot of kids who cringe at having to be vaccinated in order to attend school.

I know when mine were toddlers, they weren't exactly thrilled with their vaccinations either. But they had to have the whole series over the first years in order to later attend school...oh, and to prevent catching the diseases the shots were created to prevent.

So far, the COVID vaccine isn't required but at some point it could be for at least a segment of the population.
