One can embrace religion or not, the "requirement" is belief in a higher power. Gays are now allowed to join, as well. A homosexual is not the same as a pederast.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

Not at all. Plenty of atheists believe in higher powers, just as many atheists are devoutly religious.
None believe in gods.

Meh, they believe some set of false things you call woo, you believe a particular false thing about atheism and notions of cornerstones to a single line item expressed as a brute fact of self apprehension.
Just figured it was worth pointing out that there are more religious atheists than irreligious atheists. More atheists who do believe in higher powers than those who do not.

"higher power" generally refers to some nefarious, undefined bit of fluff. It's woo.
Believing in community or science isn't believing in a "higher power".

For many people it is, but even those Woosters who believe in woo but not gods are still atheists. All of those members of godless religions, also atheists.
I suppose this would be noteworthy news to a person who was unaware.
