Then your services are not required, mortal.

Your presence here, trying to do your god's work by vomiting Bible verses at people who already know all about your silly-ass beliefs, suggests that you do not fully trust your god to do what you claim only it can do.

It's not so remarkable considering that there is no evidence that the Creator Who made all things exists.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Predictably, you dipped into your repertoire of excuses.

i didn't excuse anything. i pointed out most of you/the people i spoke with, do not have a basic understanding of the fundamentals of prayer. i essently said every attempt to talk to god, every wishing ceremony, every chant, every ritual, you call a prayer is a prayer. just like you can't call a cheese pizza kale and expect to get the benefits of kale and none of the negatives of eating a pizza you can't expect god to honor every little thing you do as the real thing when he has given pattern and proper example.

I don’t expect anything from a god...I doubt that any of the others in this convo do, either.

Hollow complaint, IMO.

Anywho, I saw mention earlier of the notion that we could fact check “Paul” by reference to acts.

One problem, acts is entirely fictional.

I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

sweetheart many many do.. those in life who see what God has provided and know where i come from know i speak the truth.

: shrugs :
Quote:The god you tell us that you found is just a shitty pitch.  I can't make it more simple than that for you.  If that's god, you're going to spend your whole life frustrated trying to win friends and influence people on it's behalf.
that's the thing, what have i said must be changed here with any of you? have i asked for anything? have i point out to things that need to be changed? have i pointed to a new direction in life for you to take? the true answer is no.. so then what am i influencing? you are stereotyping my approach with the typical christian approach. you cant even be bother to address me and what i have presented as God's way. so then why would i or anyone else take your critique seriously? you have shown yourself to be a simple minded hater who clearly will say anything true or not to silence you opposition.

Quote: You already seem to have realized this.  The genuine core of your absurd complaint is that people you've proven yourself to be an asshole to, keep calling you an asshole.
when i am with the jews, i follow the law and act like the jews do, when i am with the greek i eat like the greek and follow their customs. So when i am in rome, I also do as the romans do so far as my conviction of the law allows. which is not a quote but an extrapolation of what paul was trying to teach timothy. in a word he has found freedom enough in christ to be what he needs to be inorder to be seen as a regular guy. So that people understand you do not have to be holy you do not have to already be religious or act saved or batter than to approach god for the first time. I am an ass hole, because that is what i need to be here to be heard. as i have seen what you all do and shut off those christians with a soft touch.
Quote:  For your own part, you keep blaming your own asshole beliefs and your own asshole behaviors on some silly god.
you... are no God. As you do unto me, i carefully measure back an equal portion to you. I try not to escalate. when ever you ask a serious question i drop all and respond as serious and without emotion as possible. if then you have no response and want to play i cant kill the message but i will try and kill the messenger i will fight back.

What did you think would happen..here, at this site, that ridicules and shits on your beliefs.....if you committed to doing that?
who are you talking to? i've been here since 2012. and before then several other places. Ive had many successes and failures over the years. I know how it goes. i have no issue with you nor how you do things. but also know the answers i give arent for you anymore but those who sit idle and read your post as they feel as you do, and haven't been given the answers you have yet.
Quote:Are you so fucking lost that there was a real moment that you imagined yourself leading sheep out of the valley, saving souls?   That would be sad.
what's sadder.. you don't know that my purpose is to help people like you to simply facilitate a choice, and if you choose hell how to spend as little time as possible suffering in it. i have completed this task and facilitated an educated choice time and time again. That is all i want for any of you is to make an educated choice based on God's truth..

if a man believes "X" and "X" makes him a fool... how is a man then consider wise if he believes the same "X" so much he must shout it? how does adding voice to a foolish belief make it wise?

do you people even think things out anymore or is everything applauded simple because it stands in opposition of God?

one problem with your one problem a sweeping dismissal without any viable evidence is a logical fallacy. is this how you determine fact as an atheist? you stack fallacies upon fallacies until you get what you want to hear?

Friend, look around you for one... these things that we enjoy on a daily basis (a sunny pleasant day, food, air, etc, etc, etc)... on a typically uninterrupted, continuous basis - do not come from a big bang or chaos or other - but evidently powerful, insightful purpose and order (not withstanding the curse on a fallen earth - apparent in the suffering and hardship present).

I am compelled to quote so that we all know what the Holy Bible says on the matter, in pertinent part - though there's more!

"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excusebecause, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became foolsand changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things." - Romans 1:18-23

That's your position and prerogative - but a substantively, fundamentally ungrateful position and dare I say - unwise.  If someone were to do something nice, or even civil for/to you, wouldn't you be inclined to at least internally acknowledge said effort/action - talk much less of expressing thanks.  All this notwithstanding - GOD bears up the pillars of the earth as this terrestrial ball continues on its predetermined axis and course until the end of the age and new creation.  Always, but while it is today, it is good to give GOD thanks and seek Him while He may be found. (Isaiah 55:6, Hebrews 3:15).

"But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust." - Matthew 5:44-46
