Will leaving the state work in Texas

RE: Will leaving the state work in Texas
I almost forgot that I wrote a thread about the incident, and looking at the incident, it looks like one of the things that struck me about it (enough that I specifically focused on it) was that one of the legislators in question went as far as threatening to kill any state troopers who came for him and later doubling down on it. When he was reported as making a thinly-veiled threat to the troopers, he said “not thinly veiled.”

When any of the Democratic legislators leaving the state threaten to kill any of the state troopers, then and only then can we really compare the two incidents.

Apparently.

But after reading the thread again I'm sure I was taking a shot at Trump. Anticipate that you will tell me I'm wrong.

For a moment there I thought Trupster Bob's rantings was coming true. It would've been funny to see if Texas can make it on their own. XD

Every time I hear speculation about red states seceding from the union (even if it is just speculation), I'm torn between two thoughts:
  • Quarantining these far-right nutjobs their own little section of America may be the only way to keep them from trying to take over the entire country and tank our democracy.
  • For anyone who isn't a straight, white, cismale who likes the idea of consolidating power among other straight, white cismales and nobody else, it's almost certain to be a humanitarian disaster.

The new Traitor States of America would be a humanitarian disaster for everybody in those benighted states, as the leadership has neither the will, desire nor ability to organise a piss-up in a brewery never mind to run a country. Within twenty years the area would go from almost empty economic hellhole to completely empty desert.

Regardless the target.

Just looking for consistancy and not seeing it.

Then you opposed the tactic, ( running away) now you seem to endorse it.

Why is it good when your team does it, bad when the other team does?

There is nothing inconsistent about employing the same tactic under different circumstances and it having nothing to do with "sides". What part of that aren't you getting?

Governor Abbot has said the Democrats will be arrested when they return. I wonder what the charge will be...

Read the OP again, I didn't take a position on TX, on Oregon I made a joke. Knee jerk reaction was an opinion regarding the far right.

You're often an ass, that's no joke.

I'm a republican centrist, you have no clue what my "team" is.
