Boru

That is a pretty obvious distinction.  But understand that the GOP has used claims of voter fraud to justify more restrictive voting rules for 20 years now, including the new spate of laws they are now amassing.  Pretty soon there will be just one requirement for voting:

Are you voting for the Republican candidate?  Yes -> go ahead.  No -> leave.

It is worth pointing out that Trump claimed both voter fraud and election fraud in the 2020 election.  Claims of voter fraud revolved around people voting multiple times and for dead people.  His election fraud claims were all over the place, including things like hacked voting machines, boxes of illegitimate ballots being dumped at counting centers, ballots being shredded and so on, all nonsense.

The idea the Dems are ever going back to racial segregation is stupid. Hell Republicans are going to tow that line much longer. While ideal racial justice is a long way off I don't think either party is ever going back and as society becomes less racist it will become more and more remote. Parties may change but that doesn't say which way they will change. Economics is what both parties are going to switch to in the near future.

Who said anything about racial segregation?

Nevermind, I missed this post:

Quote:OLB said;

Based on 100% history.....

Keep in mind - it was in my lifetime that the ( Ds ) supported racial segregation.

If you REALLY think the ( D ) ideals - and the very platform of the party are monolithic and unchanging - you haven' t been on this ball of rock very long.

The values change to garner more votes.

Same is true of all parties.

That's yet another dumb argument.  Yes, the parties sort of flipped on several issues and I suppose its possible they could do so again in the future, but you are still just wildly speculating and that speculation is based on nothing of substance.  Again, you just seem to be a party-basher.  So what's your suggestion to fix it, as I asked before?  Just don't vote? Vote for Bozo the Clown?  We have two parties; that's the system we have.  You can't just wish a new system into place by making vapid criticisms.  We are currently in the midst of the 5th 2-party system in the US.  We have never, ever had a multi-party system like some other countries have.  So what do you think bleating about the two party system is going to accomplish?

OLB was saying the Dems might embarrass racial segregation again or some such nonesense.

RE: Attack on voting
So, if we're really going to talk about voting rights, we should all understand that universal suffrage is an almost brand new thing, right? I believe women's suffrage just celebrated it's 100th anniversary in the US. Go back another hundred years and there are all sorts of rules in place that limit voting to an elite class. It appears that is the intention again.

On December 17, 2020, Gallup polling found that 31% of Americans identified as Democrats, 25% identified as Republican, and 41% as Independent.

Fuck the two party system.

It' s time to illegalize such blatant grabs at holding power.

What people identify as and how they vote are two different things  Dodgy

And making political parties illegal would itself be illegal
