You're rejecting the whole concept of subjectivity then. So everything is objective?

Transcendent values are simply those values that do not depend on a given state of the world. You can reject them without rejecting the notion of subjectivity.

Our civil religions, for example (which is what the abrahamic myth was..fwiw).
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

The quality of new theists lately has been pretty dismal.

Nope Smile

Yes, you can. Because the subject does depend on states of the world.

I'm not trying to argue that the god botherers don't get something out of their religion, or that what they get out of their religion of god is wrong.  Or, that objective morality is right, for that matter.  That there are or aren't transcendent values.  I'm wondering what they get that other people haven't gotten from other sources?  What did you have in mind when you mentioned it?

No, besides gods, Buddhists and Hindus and objective morality, what other examples of transcendant values are you referring to that aren't a part of one of these religions.

Objective morality is not transcendent in the slightest. It is a product of human nature and human doings.

That's not that to which objective morals refers. What you are referring to is contingent. Objective morals refers to abstract right and wrong that just is a feature of the universe.

I can see you like playing Devil's Advocate. Education would be an example of a godless, yet transcendent, value.

Uh, no. Education isn't a value without people to value it.

I suppose animals teaching their young doesn't count as education.
