But please keep this weird conspiracy theory that you and a grand total of two other people buy. It's freaking hilarious that this is what you have to resort too ![]() ![]()

There is a fix for your problem since you can't seem to control yourself. Just let us know when you are ready to admit you need help.

Most vehicles post 1995 have an upflow and a downflow O2 sensor. (Before and after catcon). If the catcon is dead your computer will compensate to get the lower O2 level it wants - but you will in reality will be running rich. The vehicle will not pass emmission testing ( where required) and some of the excess fuel ends up in the crankcase as blow-by, contaminating your oil and shortening engine life. Got a check engine light showing? I pulled the codes, and it is the CC.
Who is the rapist who told you 2 grand?
Rock Auto has an aftermarket catcon for $179. If they charge 2 hours labor they are milking it. 2 grand? Find another mechanic. Yesterday - if not sooner. Apparently commenting responding to comments ....On a public forum is the sign of a problem. But inventing a baseless conspiracy theory which only three people forum buy and one of you literally had to invent evidence to try and substatiate it isn't the sign of a problem. Of course, I don't think your or your fellow OLB cheerleader are mentally unwell I just think your butthurt that criticizes your forum daddy and you think this lame tactic is going to make me stop. Too bad that's not happening ![]()

Nope.
The job ahould not cost over $500. Anywhere. I do this shit all the time. I know what it costs. 2 grand is rape.
I used to have a small Chevy Blazer - great car. The check engine light came on and we did everything suggested to fix it. It wouldn't pass emissions here and I couldn't renew the registration without that. Car ran great and it was nearly pristine (I am often the only one that travels in my car). Husband is a mechanic but we weren't able to get it fixed without spending a fortune. We sold it to my daughter who needed a reliable car and she lived in a state that didn't test emissions. Pissed me off as I had to buy another car in order to have legal transportation. Daughter drove it for a few years and didn't have any trouble with it till she just wore it out, as she is known to do with cars.
I swear those emission tests are a pain. |
