Stupid things religious people say
RE: Stupid things religious people say
Wow, this is really big if true, and why shouldn't it be true considering that Catholic priests are not allowed to lie. But then again, they are allowed to lie for Jesus, so he might be lying.

Anyway, I'm just going to copy/paste from r/atheism:

Quote:Recently, the Croatian national television aired an interview with a Catholic priest-monk who told several miraculous stories of how he healed people, all with the power of prayer.

First, He heals a girl who had problems breathing because her respiratory system was squeezed.

2nd, He sees through a woman's body that she has an IUD, and that is why he cannot bless her.

3rd, he tells a story of how he resurrected a dead fetus inside of a woman who was 6 months pregnant.

4th is a story of several cases where he heals a cursed boy, a woman from cancer, and a woman who couldn't get pregnant.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

"The priest made a kicker miss a goal by sprinkling holy water around the end zone. Another miracle from God!"

Quote:Is God an NFL fan?

Enter the Pittsburgh Steelers, who had a miraculous win over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football this week, clinching the AFC North and a spot in the playoffs.

No one can say for sure, but there are some interesting circumstances at play before kickoff that left fans from both teams wondering if higher powers had a hand in the shocking Pittsburgh win. According to ESPN SportsCenter, the Steelers brought in a Catholic priest to sprinkle Holy Water around one of the end zones.

Go ahead and scoff at the idea, but the Ravens were certainly not laughing after their kicker Tyler Loop missed what would have been a game-winning field goal as time expired. The kick went wide right, sailing over the very same damp spot where the priest had spread the Holy Water earlier. If you look closely at the video, you can see a Pittsburgh fan holding "John 3:16" on yellow poster board.

It begs the question: if God is a Steelers fan, could He also be a Patriots fan?

God can meddle with a game but can't cure cancer... just as expected,  useless!
The meek shall inherit the Earth, the rest of us will fly to the stars.

Never underestimate the power of very stupid people in large groups

Arguing with an engineer is like wrestling with a pig in mud ..... after a while you realise that the pig likes it!

"Ken Ham has a childish interpretation of the Bible/ Genesis/ Flood."

As opposed to what? A mature interpretation of a children's fairytale?

Man refuses the Eucharist from an Indian at mass.

“I’m not going to receive it from anyone who’s non-white”

He only wants to eat a non-white person (Jesus) from a white person's hand.

In Islam, even the way little girls walk is strictly policed. One wrong step can mean eternal damnation.
