All Muslims observe and follow the path of their prophet, your use of the adjective "orthodox" is stupidly redundant. There is no way to tell whether someone is a "true islamic follower" anyway, even if they apparently die for their religion.

I would say that when it comes to the jewish flavor of religions, they don’t embrace the live and let live philosophy. You have to be like them, specially when you live in the same city as them.

The problem here is that the abrahamic faiths are monotheistic.  They cannot acknowledge that any other religions have any validity.  It's one of the areas where polytheism has a big advantage.

Also, the idea of having good god vs evil god (Devil, Satan), leads to the idea that a particular person or tribe is working for the devil. Kids are programmed at a young age that evil must be destroyed. When they grow up and become judges, soldiers, kings/queens, popes, priest and such, they are ready to destroy evil.

At some point, you have a bunch of christians who attacked and shot to death Joseph Smith’s brother (Hyrum). I think he was shot in the face near the jailhouse. 4 men went in the jail and there was a gun fight with Joseph Smith. Joseph jumps out the window and he is shot dead outside.
However, his killing might have been done by former mormons who learned that Joseph slept with their wives. Also, Joseph owed his followers a lot of money.

In any case, I’m sure that all sorts of things have been said about mormonism: That Joseph Smith is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Even today, I hear christians use that expression when talking about certain priests.
