Cars and the Internet serve a utilitarian purpose. BDSM does not.

I get the feeling that you - of all people - are monumentally unqualified to determine what does and does not ‘serve a utilitarian purpose’.

Marriage is pointless, means nothing. I can fuck who I want if I'm married or not, if they consent (of legal age obviously*). If you consider cheating after marrying immoral I can accept that you can form a valid argument for it. But you need to realise some relationships, even marriages, are "open" (some two sided open, some one sided). Cheating in a relationship isn't something I've done. I could see why someone could think it's not immoral though. But you are actually considering pre marital sex immoral (assuming consent granted), you're ridiculous! Don't you enjoy having fun?

Both of these are your opinions and don't necessarily apply to others.  Marriage is defined by the people involved, not a third party.  And marriage, like church and religion, can be a complex thing and different for different people.  You can simplify marriage if you want and say it's just a contract, but that's just a convenient definition and doesn't include the actual parameters involved.  Don't fool yourself into thinking you understand these things if you think they are so simple.  You are doing the same thing many Christians do when they say a fallen Christian who became and atheist was never a true Christian.  You're pretending to know what others think.  In fact, I would say that your conclusion that life is more basic than I think is exactly the opposite of true.
I feel like I am reading the script of a failed comedian. I'm not discussing banning marriage or calling it immoral. I'm calling it pointless in a post that had the purpose of encouraging fun. If you are getting offended and preaching to me over that then you are wasting my time and your own.

It's just unnatural. You don't see animals doing that shit, do you?

I just can’t even take you seriously, lol.

You have a peculiar idea of what constitutes "preaching".  I simply called out your error.  You stated that marriage was pointless with no qualifications.  Maybe it's pointless to you, but that's as far as you can go with that definition.  You can make your point with Ahri, but proposing universal definitions of something like marriage doesn't help your case and makes you sound like you don't know what you are talking about.

Not surprising.  It's like listening to a child.  Ahri can't keep a consistent idea going more than two posts.

I need qualifications to talk about marriage and you think I tried to define marriage. OK buddy.

Consider your statement:
Quote:Marriage is pointless, means nothing.

This statement sounds absolute to me and it's simply not true, not objectively anyway.  So, the question is did you mean this to be an absolute truth, or are you just saying within the context of morality, marriage is not relevant.

But you continue to say this:
Quote:I can fuck who I want if I'm married or not, if they consent (of legal age obviously*). If you consider cheating after marrying immoral I can accept that you can form a valid argument for it. But you need to realise some relationships, even marriages, are "open" (some two sided open, some one sided). Cheating in a relationship isn't something I've done. I could see why someone could think it's not immoral though.

It is certainly true that you can have whatever sexual relationships you like whether you are married or not, but within the context of morality (which I will equate to ethics), this cannot be objectively true.  My wife and I have a mutually agreed upon understanding of marriage and within that, having sex with others is not an ethical/moral thing to do.  If we had an open marriage it might be different and people are free to have those kinds of relationships.  But your statement about marriage is not objectively true, only subjectively.  This is all I was pointing out and I was doing that because of the line of thought that was going.  I could explain further but I sense you are becoming obstinate and not open to discussion.

More of your ignorance...

Is driving a car natural? You don't see animals doing that shit, either.

Have you ever watched 2 tigers or lions mate? Their rough sex makes anything humans do, look tame by comparison.

Male American bison have been observed to have long term, homosexual partnerships, including anal penetration.
Same with elephants.
Male Amazonian dolphin males have been observed to engage in all sorts of homosexual activity, even blowhole penetration.

Not entirely true. Do you see any animals inventing cars or the Internet?

This does not change the fact that we are 100% animals.

You are looking at this from the position of a human, gloating about all the accomplishments we are capable of, and being impressed, because you are a human, with human biases.

How do you know whales aren't thinking about how superior they are, since they can stay underwater for 30 minutes, dive over a mile deep, and sing songs that can be heard underwater all over the world?

Or cheetahs aren't thinking about how superior they are to use slow humans, because they can run over 70 MPH?

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

Yes I do, but not at the cost of my peace of mind. Not all sex, not even all consensual sex, is good. You wouldn't just have anal sex, would you?

Sex is like Pizza. When it's good, it's really good. When it's bad, it's still pretty good.

Well that's an incredibly shitty thing to say. But actually yes, I have had sex. It was good, but I'm not dying to do it again.
