RE: Shatner Launch
I was just watching a interview on cable news with actor Adrian Zmed, co star of the 80s cop show staring Shatner, "T.J. Hooker", about Shatner's launch today. Shatner was old when he played "T.J." and I was looking at Adrian today, and thinking , WHAT THE F?  Point being, everyone gets old.

No they don't.

Only the winners.

Fun fact -

My dad is a little more than a week older than Shatner.

I asked if he would go on this flight.

Answer - "For free? Sure. If I have to pay for it I want a week at the ISS."

I'm watching. I bet Shatner will write a book about this.

Also, I was surprised to see Shatner walking in one scene because I have not seen him walk in years. Usually, they use "clever" cuts in movies and TV whenever he needs to walk - like seeing him from behind.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Ok...he went straight up and down again.... just like NASA did in the 1960's
The meek shall inherit the Earth, the rest of us will fly to the stars.

Never underestimate the power of very stupid people in large groups

Arguing with an engineer is like wrestling with a pig in mud ..... after a while you realise that the pig likes it!

Shatner is probably the fattest astronaut so far.
