Of comedy and sports. A HELP ME thread.

Of comedy and sports. A HELP ME thread.
If there is any gang of sleuths here. There was a local DC radio show that did a spoof of Billy Joel's "Uptown Girl" song, when Washington went to the Super Bowl against the Raiders after defeating Miami the year before. Needless to say, as history proves, Washington had it's ass handed to us by the Raiders.

Not the point though.

Prior to the big game, a local radio station spoofed a Billy Joel Song, "Uptown Girl" calling it "Super Bowl", implying that Washington was going to win a second year in a row, which we did not.

But the parody lyrics went

"Super Bowl"
We're going to the Super Bowl
We're going to win like we did last year
The Raiders will want a new career"

So if anyone reading this can find the audio of that spoof, I will name my first kid after you, and in the interest of full disclosure, I have no intent on having kids, and I am also sure you are happy about that.

I searched YouTube for a full sixty seconds. Based on the results, I’ve concluded that the song doesn’t exist.

Boru

Believe me it does. But there certainly are things that pre date social media that don't get a fingerprint.

There really was a Washington (at the time) "Redskins" spoof song, made by a local radio station prior to Super Bowl XVII, spoofing Billy Joel's "Uptown Girl".

Like I said before, the lyrics went

"Super Bowl, the skins are going to win the Super Bowl
They'll do it just like they did last year"
They'll make the Raiders want a new career".

But unfortunately Washington lost 38 to 9.

I'd only agree that this is really obscure and local for it's time.

I found that it was credited to a guy named Brad Smiley but it's apparently not something people want to see/hear. Not on YouTube or anywhere else that I can find.

Awesome, but I was looking for the full audio of the spoof. Any link to the full original spoof will be met with tickle fights and noogies and Indian burns, and wedgeies.

I know that. But between you and Boru, why cant you find the Grand Unified Theory? What do I pay you for, (um...... did I think this, or type it?)

Needles in Brian37 stacks, I would think that would be short work.

An aside that is exactly why my ex wife left me. She couldn't find it.
