The Sects of Atheism
RE: The Sects of Atheism
Yes, this thread was about claiming atheism is a religion from the start.  SOS.  Now we've moved on to teleological arguments.  SSDD.

There are a few definitions of soul, which one do you want to discuss ? What you seem to be doing is asking the equivalent of something like ''what do you feel about the colour of paint''.

Take some responsibility for your beliefs and use definitions we can ask you about.

Here's just 25 definitions to help you along

https://www.yourdictionary.com/soul

If you’re confused about “soul” a question asked by a theist on an atheist site, then tell me about the afterlife. Surely you’re not confused about that one?

Actually you would be surprised at how different theists approach this problem, can you stop waffling and can we have your definition so we can have a productive conversation ?  what do you mean by afterlife for instance, and tell us why you believe there is a reason to even bring it into a conversation ?

What do you mean when you say the soul ? Try and be specific, if you don't know or the concept is so vague to, you simply say you don't know what you mean.

All right serious poster. Let’s define it as “consciousness”. Your turn.

Hah, what a low effort troll. If you wanna talk souls, talk souls. If you wanna talk consciousness..lead with that, not some horseshit about a soul.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

The soul is awareness after death and yes we will talk about consciousness in another topic. I will use google translate when speaking to you.

The dictionary definition is

1.
the state of being aware of and responsive to one's surroundings.
"she failed to regain consciousness and died two days later"

2.
a person's awareness or perception of something.
"her acute consciousness of Luke's presence"

Is this what you mean ? Is this what you call a soul ?

RE: The Sects of Atheism
You know what the idea of a soul in your religion started out as? Your breath. Your literal breath. It wasn't something that lived, somehow, without your body. That's what all the talk about breath and breath of life is doing in your magic book.

Looks like you abandoned that one pretty quick.

What reason do you have to even introduce awareness after death ? It would help us if you would tell us how you came to believe that was is even possible.
