In their minds, children don't need to know anything about deviations to the norm. In their minds everyone is either male (and is thus attracted to females), or is a female (attracted to males). God made humans like this and only like this.
Deviations are diseased people that need to be cured.

In the meantime, it's fine to teach kids to worship god and don't say its name in vain and stuff. It's even desirable to teach them that. This way the kids will grow to accept god as real and will perpetuate the belief... That's not indoctrination, it's education.

I think it’s about a desire to control. So, remember when the Right decided to turn “groomer” into an all-purpose slur? And seemingly dilute its meaning to such a degree that you expect Inigo Montoya to pop out of fiction and say “You keep saying that word. I do not think it means what you think it means”? Well, Stephen Crowder, of all people, actually managed to create a semi-coherent explanation of what they meant.





Basically, in their view, parents have a right to absolute control over what their children learn about. If teachers teach their kids the same things they want to teach, it’s okay. If not, then it’s horrible. And, in my experience, the sort of people who think that parents should have the right to total control over what their children learn (and have the sort of political clout to make things happen) tend to be huge on Judeo-Christian virtue signaling.
