Question to theists: When to take the bible literally?

RE: Question to theists: When to take the bible literally?
To the original post.

It isn't just Christianity who does this, every religion in the world has followers, and apologists that move the goal posts when you point out contradictions in logic.

I would say regardless, I prefer the follower who waters it down and ignores the not so nice parts of their religion, than those who lean to taking their leaders/writings literally.

Most humans see their religion and religious writings as the core of their morality for good or bad.

I always like to point out when I run into the argument of of morality being handed down from above. If morality were the patent of one religion, or one religious sect, or one holy writing of any religion, then why is it every nation on the face of the planet have both hospitals and prisons?

I’m not sure what one religion having a patent on morality has to do with hospitals and prisons. Could you elaborate?

Whenever it conveniently aligns with whatever nefarious plans they have....

Infanticide? God' s good with that.
Misogyny? That' s how God rolls.
Slavery? You bet! It' s all part of "His" plan......

See how that works?

You missed incest and genocide.

Three examples show the point...

We could hammer on all day - there' s quite a list
