Brace yourselves... Christmas is coming!

RE: Brace yourselves... Christmas is coming!
I view this holiday as a seasonal religion. Do you really need a particular time of year to be told it is better to be nice than naughty?

I honestly feel that Christmas is generally more of a secular holiday now than when I was a kid. People, more and more, are getting Christ out of Christmas.

Side note: The most frequently celebrated national holiday in the world is completely secular and is observed - on average - once every six days. Any guesses?

Well, if it is completely secular then it must be in China because if there is some popular holiday in the western world then the Chruch claims how they invented it and how it's all about some saint.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

No. It's a secular holiday - no religious affiliations or connections at all.

On average? Then it's probably that any day of the year has a 1 in 7 chance of being celebrated as Independence Day from the British by some country in the world.
