Yeah I read that. Sneaky, and certainly suggests something to hide.

About 2 years ago I bought an El Cheapo Lenovo laptop with Windows 10. . Not a bad machine except for the processor, which was too slow. Had a mate install Linux Mint dual boot with Windows. Linux is now the default OS, but it could easily be left as windows.   That would probably fool some people .

Oh, since running Linux, response times have halved. I rarely use Windows on the laptop.

"The accusations brought against Joshua today are very serious. It is our prayer that the truth, no matter what it is, will come to light, and that this will all be resolved in a timely manner,"

This is something that could have, in part, come from the mouth of Professor Richard Dawkins.

The truth, no matter what it is...  A case of selective reasoning on the part of the Duggars??  Maybe there is some progress here?

Or perhaps they know after years of experience with the little pervert living under their roof that he's well and truly buggered and this is as close to a non-admission as they could come.

If the Duggars really care about what is true, then they ought to abandon their religion.

Yeah, quite likely, but, as the computer was not secured, anyone with physical access to the box could have created a dual boot OS. With root access and knowledge of Linux, virtually anything is possible after that.

I would not convict if I was in the jury, at least from what I have read in the news.

The computer wasn't secured, but the Linux partition could only be accessed by physically restarting the computer, hitting F9 as it reboots, and typing in the password intel1988. You would need to physically be there to pull it off.

Hell, besides the fact that their religion peddles bullshit, if they cared about protecting, well, anyone besides Josh, they would have abandoned it. Before shit got real and he was actually arrested, it was theoretically possible that maybe Josh wasn't actually a pedo, that he was just a horny teen who was given zero legitimate sexual outlets and five sisters walking around the house every day. In this least damning case scenario, the toxic religion he was raised in would have contributed to a scenario where he couldn't just do shit like masturbate, look at normal porn, or even explore sexuality with a girl closer to his own age. And given that this is apparently an extremely common thing in their particular cult, common enough that they created monstrosities like this, it wasn't a possibility I could have easily dismissed.

This thread has multiple identities.

I agree. Certainly, such a stunt is within the realm of a nation state. It just takes a keylogger, a technician and a lookout. Timestamps are worthless, and with the right transient script they could have configured the box to download whatever whenever, removing all traces of the script from nonvolatile (disk) memory.

The perfect setup to smear conservatives by the Russians?? Unlikely, yes, impossible, no. And, what better target than an already known religious pervert?? Guilt by association, perhaps?

I doubt that a nation state framed josh duggar.....but, apparently, he's the kind of kiddie pron lover who would tell you as much if he thought you'd believe it.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I agree. It would be, for me, a question of "reasonable doubt". Unless there is direct forensic proof, it is just too easy for a skilled enemy to frame someone whom they do not like. For instance, I have had some neighborhood kids use my computer to play games with my son and have wondered, "Guilty until proven innocent" if they should do something questionable. Hasn't happened, so far...

There is direct forensic proof....an exhaustive amount of it...that's the stuff the defense argues josh is being framed with. IDK if I can get on board with you about any doubt like this being reasonable.

If I was on the jury, I might think differently. I only know the highlights that the media has provided. My interest was perked by the Duggar parents very Dawkinsish statement!
