Quote:Yours is not a question; it's a cheap practice of Socratic Method; one that is very distant from our topic to begin with. You are not winning the argument by asking an unrelated thing.

So ask about the fact that Heathen Christians -like Irene of Athens- gouged out the eyes of their own sons.
The Socratic Method is literally asking questions ...... Dodgy

The Quran -which I'm taking as my personal law- doesn't orders maiming but in two cases:

1-Robbery, by cutting the hand of the thieve -unless pardoned by the victim-.
2-Cutting both the hand & the leg in the case of the criminal is spreading corruption in the land as the verse say:

Quote:Sura 5, The Quran:
https://quran.com/5:33?store=false&translations=

Indeed, the punishment for those who fight Allah and His Messenger and rush about in the land spreading corruption is that they be relentlessly killed or crucified or have their hands and feet cut off on opposite sides or be banished from the land. That is a disgrace for them in the Earlier(Life) , and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment—

— Fadel Soliman, Bridges’ translation

That's the only "maiming" in my religion, and you have to be a Mongol looter or a mafia boss to receive the sentence.
But no touching to the eyes unless the commuter touched the eye of the victim first. Messing with eyes is inhumane.

Or apostasy, or disbelief, or....

Quote:Classical Quranic commentators commonly interpreted "corruption in the land" as open disobedience against God or its result.

Wikipedia || Fasad

In certain cases it also referred to armed, assault, and murder.

Quote:“THE SARIYYAH OF KURZ IBN JABIR AL-FIHRI TOWARDS AL-URANIYINS
Then (occurred) the sariyyah of Kurz Ibn Jabir al-Fihri towards al-Uraniyun in Shawwal of the sixth year from the hijrah of the Apostle of Allah. They (narrators) said: A party of the Uraynah numbering eight came to the Apostle of Allah, and embraced Islam but the climate of al-Madinah did not suit them. Thereupon the Apostle of Allah ordered them to live with his milch-camels which used to graze at Dhu al-Jadr in the vicinity of Quba close to Ayr at a distance of six miles from al-Madinah. They remained there till they recuperated and became fat. One morning they made a raid on the milch camels and drove them away. Yasar, the mawla of the Apostle of Allah, confronted them. He fought with them. They cut his hands and feet and pricked thorns in his tongue and eyes. Consequently he died. The news of this incident reached the Apostle of Allah. He sent twenty horsemen to pursue them and appointed Kurz Ibn Jabir al-Fijri their leader. They reached there, and surrounded them. They captured them, tied them, and seating tem on their horses they brought them to al-Madinah. The Apostle of Allah was at al-Ghabah. They set out with them towards him and met him at al-Zaghabah, the place where flood water came from all directions. He gave orders and their hands and feet were amputated, their eyes extracted. They were crucified. Then the verse was revealed to the Apostle of Allah. ‘The only reward of those who make war upon Allah and his Messenger and strive after corruption in the land.’ – Al-Qur’an, 5:33 …”
[emphasis mine]

So it's clear that spreading corruption in the land can refer to apostasy or disbelief and that verse, referring to corruption, was inspired by the blinding of criminals.

I have asked you a question many times.  You are just a fucking coward...just like I always figured you were.

pffft

You are pitiful.

What? you didn't like the "WinterHold Method" that is an updated version of the Socratic Method; i.e the update is actually asking you about the same original topic !

tffffpp..

Again, they used to gouge peoples' eyes in the Christian Byzantine empire for centuries as a formal sentence; your opinion about this savage historical fact?

Shame..shame.
So this is how rapists, serial killers and armed robbers are dealt with in Allah's quran.
While in your land, they become guests in 7 star rooms called prison to masturbate for life fantasying about what they did.

Meanwhile, in our land, we treat human beings with dignity and humanity regardless of their actions. Meanwhile, your land has nothing but backward thoughts and deluded savagery

I pointed that out in my post, moron, but that's only "in certain contexts," the part you didn't highlight. Shame, shame yourself, you dishonest twit. But thanks for admitting Islam employs cruel and unusual punishments.

Both are absolutely unacceptable responses.  Maiming is never okay.  Ever.  It doesn't fucking matter what scripture authorizes it - in all cases, it is a violation of the criminal's human rights.

How does a person reach someone like you... winter, so completely and inexorably lost? I don't know.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

But Astrega, the whole world -especially westerm countries- are exporting "maiming devices" called live ammunition; and deploy them to fighting jets and landmines, and crossed the level of hypocrisy to sell them for billions of Dollars to dictators who use maiming + butchery towards millions of innocent people, like the "maiming war of Yemen" that the west + Saudi Arabia are waging now.

Calling maiming with other names like "tactical airstrike" remains what it is: a maiming strike. Calling "maiming" with "tactical bombing" to help one sleep at night will not change the fact.
At least Allah says it as it is.
