I'm going to wait until after this years elections, local and national, before I consider 2024. If nut jobs get elected just because their republican then there will be dark days to follow that may or may not include Trump running. Just as disturbing would be a Trump puppet. Imagine him pulling strings behind the scenes with a degree of separation.
At this time I'm more concerned about politics at my local level.
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.

I shudder to think of having Trump as president again. But I also understand that the cult of Trump will have to unravel a lot more than it has to make it an impossibility.
As for Kamala Harris, I don't see where she has made a big impression either negative or positive for her to be a viable candidate. She broke a lot of barriers but that seems to be the end of her mark on government, so far.

At least until Joe Biden resigns, say, in January 2023. My prediction will be that the Republicans will capture the House & Senate; their will be a flurry of legislation in December 2022 (the "last gasp" of progressive legislation, at least for awhile); President Biden will commute the death sentences of all federal death row inmates, and, then resign.

Trump knows that his second term wasn't really stolen from him. If he runs, he's the one person who can get Democrats and Independents to turn out against him in 2020 numbers. I predict he puts off announcing he won't run until the last minute, blaming election rigging. He know he'd lose again if he ran and he's not up to it psychologically.

Its really hard to tell with Trump. I listened to an interview on NPR (I couldn't believe they actually did that) a few days ago and he sounds absolutely convinced that it was fraud. Of course his arguments are coo coo, but he just keeps going like the Energizer bunny. If he is faking it he's doing a great job of never breaking character.
I spoke to someone yesterday who runs elections in a small county in TN who said that their precinct was full of corruption just a few years ago, but is cleaned up now. They often did things like filled out hundreds of ballots for incapacitated people in nursing homes and hospitals and this was considered acceptable. This kind of thing would only be meaningful for local elections, though. She seemed to suggest that this was only the tip of the iceberg. It made me think there might be ways to cheat that I would never have dreamed about.
Why is it so?
