@ Ahriman I want to make one thing clear here. I grew up Southern Baptist and my parents, sister, brother-in-law, my wife's parents are all still devout Baptists. Yet they would all agree with me on 99% of what I've said here regarding objective truth, science, the scientific method and where it intersects with modern medicine. IOW, they are all still devoutly Christian and they understand this better than you. Someone must have truly messed you up.
Why is it so?

Christians don't care about science.

Still just viewing the world from your own mind? Why would I lie about this? In fact, I could expand this quite a bit since I can assure you that 100% of my science teachers up to the college level and probably 90% of those, were in fact Christians. I think one might have been agnostic but we never actually discussed it. Are you saying Christians don't or can't teach the scientific method?

@ Ahriman
I don't know why I limited my list to my family and associates and Dr. Collins. Here's a much longer list of prominent scientists who are/were Christians: Here
And that's just famous people. There are, of course, scores of others for each famous person. I live in an area with an extremely high concentration of PhD scientists. I can guarantee you these people all firmly trust and respect the scientific method and I also know that a large percentage of them are Christians. I know because I've attended church and other activities with them. I know some of them personally. You should just admit you are way out on a limb here, Airhead. Accepting the scientific method as fact does not contradict Christianity. There are certainly aspects to Christianity that are counter to science, but I expect most of those people compartmentalize some aspect of this. But they don't compromise the scientific method, that's for sure. How do I know this? Their work dictates that they cannot do this.

They wouldn't want to.
Then why would they chose a scientific field of study/instruction? Admit it, you are just wrong and this is likely giving you a big headache.

Boru Nah, religion teaches people how to think in the right ways, minus all the extraneous societal brainwashing.
The evidence is against you.

Again, how can you support this assertion? Are we just to believe you because you've demonstrated you are so reliable? What ways do you think are right?
Should women be subservient to their husbands?
Should white people consider themselves superior to other races?
Should homosexuals be ostracized and banned from society?
These are just some of the possible teachings that one might see in a Christian religion, depending on the type of church you go to. There are an array of others but all quite restrictive. So, are you saying you agree that people should be restricted in their thinking by religion? Is this why you left Christianity? Hypocrisy, again and again and again with you. Always hypocrisy.

I left Catholicism because at that point in my life, my homosexual urges were becoming too strong to ignore, and I didn't think there was much point in continuing to go through the motions of Catholicism if I was actually gay.

Didn't the nuns tell you that will send you to Hell? Or are you saying you believe what the church tells you, except when you don't? Hypocrite.
